A real 5-star experience. The staff is very friendly and always available for everything you need. You can move by bike or be picked up by a buggie. Food is great in the restaurant, but the traditional dinner experience is a must. Astonishing surroundings.
A relaxing stay in a little paradise!

This is the most chilled, relaxing and very beautifully designed property. Spaciously set out with wonderfully comfortable large villas with personal plunge pools. Large balconies nestled in amongst large trees in the wilderness. Very secluded. Buggies are there for easy access to the villas from the main building and for other recreational places. Buggy driver Kusal was very helpful and excellent customer service with great etiquette.

Food was excellent and the staff is very friendly. Catered for dietary requirements. Chef made special bread without wheat and diary free desserts specifically for me. Staff is always willing to help with any questions related to attractions around the property. Without a doubt I will consider Uga Ulagalla again.

Genuine 5-star experience. Attentive, friendly staff. We really enjoyed a carefully-planned and excellently-executed New Year’s Eve gala. Secure, comfortable location. Abundant wildlife, all part of the experience. Spacious villa with plunge pool. Cute but SNEAKY monkey lives nearby, and he will unapologetically steal your sugar packets! Ha! We haven’t yet tried any of a multitude of on property amenities but I’m sure they’re great!

This is our initial visit to UGA Ulagalla, and we were thoroughly impressed. The villa's amenities are comprehensive and conducive to relaxation.

The culinary offerings were exceptional, and the staff demonstrated exemplary service. The kitchen staff was particularly accommodating, preparing an early morning kiri ahara for our religious observances. Additionally, Kusal from the buggy service went above and beyond by being ready to transport us at 5 am. This level of service exceeded our expectations.

Dilrukshi from the front desk exhibited professionalism, kindness, and expertise. Her exceptional service has left a lasting impression and contributed to our desire to return.

This morning, we embarked on a scenic drive experience with our guide, Sakun. The experience was remarkable, and the lakeside picnic was a delightful touch. Sakun's professionalism and extensive knowledge of nature and village life were evident throughout the excursion. We highly recommend the village experience.

While we encountered numerous exceptional staff members, we would like to specifically acknowledge Dilrukshi, Kusal, and Sakun for their outstanding contributions to our stay at UGA Ulagalla.

One of the best hotels out there - so much wildlife around you, perfect combination of nature with luxury. The food is top notch, all the staff are really friendly and helpful, the facilities are excellent - and all in such a unique setting.

Huge villa's and walking around the grounds is a must for all the wildlife. A big thank you for the staff who have been welcoming and very helpful. And try the fresh breakfast juice - the Orange, sour banana and pineapple is a must !

My favourite pool in Sri Lanka - lovely natural villas - and the staff really were top of the tree. We enjoyed horse riding through lakes and tootling about on our villa bikes- great location for exploring the triangle - really superb stay - thanks to all staff especially the assistant manageress who was all round superb

A very nice hotel! Three activities are particularly recommended, the Kalamatha dinner, a traditional cookery course and the evening safari with a the Naturalist.

The first takes place in a rustic atmosphere in the middle of a rice field, the second is at lunchtime and you learn about the variety of healthy Sri Lankan cuisine from professionals. Both are very tasty, thanks to the warm and experienced staff!

Thanks to Priyardarshana, the naturalist guide, and to Sanjeewa, the jeep driver, one of the highlights of our stay was the safari in the late afternoon along clay tracks past rice fields and lakes, where we saw lots of beautiful animals, especially birds. A great finale was a small sunset dinner!

Our experience at Uga Ulagalla has been nothing short of amazing. From the breathtaking scenery to the welcoming atmosphere created by the attentive staff. Special thanks to Dilrukshi and Shakila at the reception, both of who took the time to personally converse with us and ensure that everything was to our liking. Also I’d like to mention Shiraz as well who constantly approached us and ensured that the food was to our liking. I would also like to mention Ramzi and Shakun, who handled horse riding and kayaking respectively and were extremely friendly. Moreover I’d also like to mention the two spa girls as well who did a splendid job with the massage. All in all an exceptional experience.

My mom and I visited Uga Ulagalla in September and had an exceptional experience. The staff warmly welcomed us upon arrival, making our girls' trip memorable. We booked a private villa for my mom and me, and we enjoyed the spacious, immaculately clean atmosphere. The staff was amazing, encouraging us to explore the spa and cycle around the property. The highlight was the Kamatha dinner with around 25 curated curries exclusively for us. We also indulged in a delicious cocktail made from arrack and tamarind.

After the sumptuous dinner, we were so full that walking back was a challenge. However, the staff promptly arranged for assistance. One standout team member we truly appreciated was Sesha. She was warm, welcoming, always wearing a smile, and consistently checked if we needed anything. Sesha provided great recommendations, from kayaking to horse riding, and was well-organized with all the details a guest could need. Highly recommend the personalised and delightful experience at Uga Ulagalla!

Eve though our stay was short, the resort hospitality was amazing. Special compliments to the chef, food was too better. Unfortunately we missed the traditional welcome due to heavy rain.

it would not be fair to say that the resort is good...
I was just totally overwhelmed by everything you offer.
The service of the staff was great, we also noticed that it wasn't the fake friendliness towards the customers, but you really have good-hearted people in your team.
The rooms/villas are superbly furnished, everything was always clean and ready..... I didn't find a single thing to complain about during my stay.... on the contrary, the more time I spent there, the more I discovered and I always found it better than before... it's a real shame that we were only there for 2 nights, next time we go to Sri Lanka, Uga Ulagalla will definitely be there...

Where to start… my wife and I originally planned on staying at Ula Ulagalla for 2 nights but we ended up extending our stay to 4 nights because the accommodation, service, staff, and the overall experience was remarkable. This was by far the best hotel accommodation we have ever stayed at. The food was phenomenal. The room was spacious and well kept. The private pool at our chalet was incredible. The list goes on and on and at the heart of the stay is an amazing staff. Stay here if you have the opportunity, you will not regret it!

Ulagalla is a paradise. It's soo well kept. Hospitality is great. The staff is Soo attentive. We have nothing but praise...Thank you dear Ulagalla..you gave us an unforgettable experience during our 4 days stay ...we will definitely visit again ❤

We stayed here for 2 nights in October. Our experience was spectacular overall.
Food - It’s amazing. Special mention - Ranjan for taking care our allergic and vegetarian requirements
Property - It’s a huge property with great villas. They provide a lot of activities. Special mention - Kamath SriLankan food experience. Special Mention - Sampath for making sure we get to experience great vegetarian meals.

Location - We wanted to explore cultural triangle. It’s situated at the best location for the three places.

Uga Ulagalla Resort is a secluded luxury resort nestled in a lush green forest in the heart of Sri Lanka. We went there for our honeymoon and would recommend Ulagalla without hesitation to anyone. The staff went beyond their means to ensure our stay was memorable. We stayed at Ulagalla for 2 nights and it was without a doubt the best stay during our entire trip. The food is simply exquisite, and the service is impeccable. The staff at Uga Ulagalla Resort are incredibly friendly and attentive from the front desk to the buggy drivers. They go out of their way to ensure that guests have a truly memorable experience. In addition to its beautiful villas and delicious food, Uga Ulagalla Resort also offers a wide range of activities and amenities for guests to enjoy. Uga Ulagalla is a place that makes you feel like royalty throughout the stay. I have nothing but best wishes for the team there. We stayed here in villa no.7 for 2 nights during our honeymoon journey on full board basis.

We were well taken care of from the moment we entered the premises until our departure. Special thanks go to Dilrukshi, Supun, Rankoth and Sakun.

Uga Ulagalla was our 2nd destination in the honeymoon. We stayed in villa no.7 and privacy was no issue here even in the pool area.

Food was remarkable ( I have added some photos). Throughout the whole stay, Dilrukshi made sure that we were enjoying and was always keen to know what could be done to make everything better.
From time to time we had meals via room service too and our requests were fulfilled without any issues.

We had an incident where we had a flat tire which we only noticed after we left the hotel premises after about travelling 100m after checking out. Since we didn't know the area, thought it would be better to go in again and check options from there. Once we were in the hotel, Rankoth (naturalist executive) and Sakun (naturalist supervisor) came and took care of the issue and didn't accept anything in return. Dilrukshi made sure we got to Colombo by checking with us from time to time. This is the type of who will be taking care of you and I can guarantee that you'll be having a great time here because of their hospitality.

This is a place where you'll be missing time to time after you've checked out due to all the good memories and experiences you gather in here. Will definitely visit again !

One of the best hotels I have to been to, the staff is very friendly and helpful, the location has great sceneries with a lot of different species of birds and animals and a lot of fun activities to do and the kamatha has a great range of local flavors. Me and my family, we always have a great experience whenever We visit there

Loved the property. Love the rooms and most of all the privacy. A lot of activities can be done at a reasonable cost (locals FYI it is charged in dollars) in the property itself. I highly recommend Kayaking and Katerina( the lead naturalist) was the best. The staff were friendly and the food was good. Enjoyed the stay. I would visit again.
