Yi Sun-Sin Park

the park is great... steep hill going in that must be walked as cars are left behind in the parking lot... beautiful views... we walked here from the ferry terminal... not recommended as the streets are lined with shops that support the fishing and ferry fleet... take a taxi instead, or drive... small shop with drinks next to the parking lot.

Of all the places I visited while in Tongyeong, this was my absolute favorite. I visited on May 3, 2018, a sunny, breezy day, the perfect weather for exploring the many paths to be found in the park. In fact, I was so enchanted by the trails and the glorious views that I ended up spending over four hours exploring them and actually returned to the entrance of the park so that I could check out some of the paths I hadn't taken earlier. The other reason I did so was to check out the museum, but despite the fact that I was there on a Thursday, when it was supposedly open, I found that not to be the case. On the one hand, since Lee Sun Shin is one of my heroes, I was a bit disappointed, however, on the other hand, the park itself was enough to keep me very satisfied. If I lived in Tongyeong, I could easily imagine visiting it at least weekly if not more frequently.

The only negative thing I have to say about the park is that I would never have found it if I hadn't been driven there by a local! I had planned to visit it the previous day, by going there on foot, and I seriously believe I would have given up my quest; the approach provides no indication that the park is nearby, something I verified as I was leaving it.

Going to the park takes you through a very industrial looking area but once you get there it's completely worth it. It's a very nice park for a walk or just to enjoy the view. There's a large statue of Yi Sun Sin (duh!) and historical details but they're all in Korean. There's also a miniature turtle ship which doesn't look very exciting. There's even a kids' playground.

Such a nice park for a walk and picnic.
It is also a good place to watch a sunset.
If you don't like crowded place, I recommend you to visit here in the evening.

A must-see place when visiting TY. Discover history and enjoy beautiful mountain walks through well kept gardens. It also has a wonderful view of the Hallyusudo Islands.

Strongly recommend to visit if you like the ocean sights. Nice and clean park to walk around.

It is a place where you can see all the sunrise and sunset in Tongyeong👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 I came here to see the view. You can see the beautiful sea. If you come to Tongyeong must visit here.😍

Beautiful Park in Tongyeong-si!

Went there just when Covid had started. So the place was deserted. Spent the afternoon just lazing around and soaking up the fresh air before life turned upside down for the next two years! What a serene place this was. Beautifully landscaped and well designed pathways and access areas.

Amazing sight seeing spot. why don't you come here~

Visit early morning at sunrise or evening at sunset to get the best out of it.

Not well known everyone but it is one of the well maintained and awesome looking parks.

Good park. Great view. Kids play ground is very good for kids age 4 to 10.

Enjoy the beautiful view of Tongyeong from a beautiful garden/beach. Free admissions. You only pay for parking.

There is a huge map showing all the battles 이순신 had. One of the battles occurred right off the coast of that spot.

The sea are beautiful and frostribe is beautiful The landscape pretty and do walk very well!
