Oeam Folk Village

It's beautiful here !
People still live in most of the houses, so it is polite to walk and talk quietly. It wasn't very crowed when we went. It's set among rice fields and mountains, so very beautiful scenery .

This place is awesome! Exactly what I was hoping for... very old well maintained homes that you can tour as well as homes that people live in. Some food vendors, coffee, traditional Korean food, cafes etc, sweet little old ladies selling goods. Signs in English & Korean also some Chinese and Japanese. They have people showing traditional arts. They weren't there when I went. It was romantic and pretty amd reminded me of princess mononoke:) good for kids or a date or just a stroll. It's pretty big actually. Def recommend 👌

This small town is well maintained historical site, many people still leave in those houses so you can see how Korean country town people leave now & old days.

You can wondering around street of the folk village and see many beautiful houses & gardens, some of the houses are open for Han-ok stay & cultural experience programs including natural dyeing, Han-ji(Korean paper) crafts, rice cake making & many others.

Packed for a festival, but that also meant extra vendors. Good thing the police helped out with traffic. Nice views, plaques full of info, and friendly staff. Usually quiet, so parking is usually not a problem.

Gorgeous village loved every minutes there.

Covid 19 blocks traveler to come in for a while. Ok for talk a walk near there.

We stayed within the village at the Pungdeok Honokstay. Loved the experience and being able to see the village from within. Highly recommended to visit!

I enjoyed my first visit. I will definitely come back when the weather is cooler.

Peaceful and relaxing place. The admission fee is USD 2. For Asan citizens it is free.

Wonderful..peaceful..feels like home

Such an interesting place!! You really get a sense of the Korean pioneering history here! There are a couple cafes and restaurants when you first enter- the restaurants are traditional food, of course~
Now the most interesting part is this is an actual village where people live! It's really interesting seeing the style of housing and fun figuring out the exotic and not-so-exotic plant life! Down by the river there's a house you can actually walk through and they seem to have a play spot for children as well as a couple traditional games you can play with your group~

Lovely small and old Han-ok village.

I heard about the Oeam Folk Village from one of those TripAdvisor websites, and it looked very fascinating. Seeing everything in person is absolutely amazing. The site is filled with all kinds of shrines and ancient architecture. Being surrounded by mountains gave even more of a presence to what is already a unique experience.

It was impressive to see that this site was keeping the image of the Joseon Dynasty period. More than 80 houses, including tile-roofed houses and thatched houses, were huddled together in the village, and it felt like a time-slip to the Joseon Dynasty era. It was good to experience the folk culture.

Very Korean traditional village! No wonder people are still living in those houses. From a poor farmer's house to a rich noble's residence, a very honest view is given.
