Donggung Palace & Wolji Pond

A magical place to visit at dusk just as the sunsets and the lights turn on at the Donggung Palace and Wolji Pond. It is the perfect time for photos.
The walk around the pond is very calming and tranquil. There are many opportunities to capture pictures of the sights during the leisurely stroll. The reflections of the structures and trees off the pond and the moon make for a picturesque scene.
Bench seating is available around the pond to rest and take in the beauty of the surroundings.
We were able to buy tickets easily upon arrival on a Monday evening ~6:45pm.
There are washrooms on site and a gift shop.

Definitely a must come at night. Very beautiful especially the pond reflection. The lit up palace is very pretty.

Romantic place to take a date. Saw a lot of couples. It was very cold when we went to be sure to dress appropriately if you’re going. Also if you walk around the pond then you’ll see where they took the picture for the brochure.

The site and the pond are so beautiful once the lights are on.

Beautiful place and a must visit when in the area. Go in the evening to catch the sunset and lights. It's worth it. Easy to get to by bus.

Entry fee is 3000 Won, I believe it is worth it.

Perfect place to enjoy a walk, be sure to walk on the main path otherwise you might slip in the sand !!

There is a wonderful pond which reflects the surrounding buildings.

By night the buildings are lightened, and the atmosphere becomes sublime.

The last entrance is at 21:30! Be sure to get there on time!!

Beautiful palace and the pond is gorgeous. It's a place that is worth to see at night if possible because all the lights reflect in the water. There are three pavilions and you can walk around the pond and take pictures from all angles. It costs only 3000 won to enter and it is really worth visiting if you are in Gyeongju.

Very beautiful especially in the night. you can take a walk around the pond. also there are nearby parking lots available.

We went after sunset after walking through the other parks and, lit up, this palace really is quite stunning.
Tickets are cheap and purchasable outside, there was no queue when we went.
It was a short trip and the palace has several displays explaining its significance in English

In my experience this place is marvelous and quite. You can enjoy the feeling of beeing in a ancient korean castle. Its really cheap, so come and visit it

Fantastic place, unfortunately arrived very late and was to dark. Came back again next day but was too early and did not manage to see it properly. It the evening was way to packed to be honest but I still believe it is nice to see it.

Canadian traveller here. What a beautiful walk around this park. It’s peaceful and well kept. It was a total of 9,000 KW. They do not accept foreign credit cards so best to have cash with you. I would spend a total of 1.5 hrs here to take in the view and take some beautiful photos.

If u are a visitor in gyeongju, visit here near night time. This place is much better at night. Even we Koreans come here to take many photos.

One of the major historical landmarks to see in Gyeongju. You should not miss seeing this palace. It’s a totally Re created monument because the old palace was destroyed centuries ago. Some excavations over the years have revealed the remnants of the ancient Shila dynasty here. Historians have identified this location as the one that used to have the palace.
Everything here has been recreated and looks even more beautiful in the evenings when the lights are lit. That is when it’s most crowded too.
There’s a small model of the palace here too that helps you understand how the original one was.
Tickets are available right outside the palace and there was no waiting

The entrance ticket costs 3,000 won/person. This time was my second time visiting this place. I visited this place on Sunday and surprisingly it was not that crowded! It was such a nice place to take a walk :)
