Cheongju Zoo

Perfect rainy day experience. I really enjoyed viewing the animals and reading the notes about each of them - especially about the rescued animals. I also found the layout of the zoo itself quite beautiful.

Admission fee is surprisingly cheap too.

The bus drops you off right in front of the gates. It is a slight climb straight from the beginning, the ticket booth is like a 3 minute steep walk up but the tickets are really cheap and you can get in for free if you have 2 or more kids and you have the documents. They don't have elephants or giraffes but they have all the major big cats and a good collection of local wild animals as well.

GROWLLLLLL 🐆 GRRRRRRR, 🐅 HOOT HOOT 🦉 SCREECH 🦅, TWEET 🦩 Animals, Mammals, Birds, Bovines, Carnivores etc etc - a delightful little zoo in Cheongju. It houses a variety of wildlife animals n birds. There were big cats- tigers, lions, leopards n more with also quite a large Asian bear population. The wolf enclosure was very interesting but the highlight of this little zoo must be its large aviary housing flamingos, exotic parrots, birds of paradise, swans , parrots n many other species of birds n fowls. The aviary is very large and high as well and it allows the birds to freely fly n intermingle. There is also a very cute small mammal collection of smaller desert animals.

We visited on a weekend and entry costs were very minimal (1,000 won adults) which means it’s probably state subsidised which is a good thing. Large cats enclosures were a bit small, in my opinion, and could have had a more natural touch n increased size. There is a small refreshments area for drinks n snacks n the ever present n necessary souvenir shops. Do check the weather prior to visitation as one would need to walk the zoo as there are no trams or other transportation within its premises. With good weather it’ll be a nice quiet visit to stay in touch with nature and all its creatures as the landscaping is very nice, green n peaceful. Recommended to prep at least 2-3 hours to leisurely tour this little zoo.

So satisfied with a good price policy (free entrance fee if you have 2 kids) and many animals in a good condition. some cages were under construction but still I could see many animals. no restaurant here, but a small convenience store you can buy cup noodles and sausages.

Not large but well maintained and friendly staffs. Otters are really cute at lunch time.

Great zoo. Many different animals plus it was cheap! 2000 won for a family of four.

청주동물원에 대한 최근 영상을 보고 방문하게되었음
구조된 동물이나 야생으로 가기전에 혹은 돌아가기 어려운 동물들이 많고
동물원의 환경에 대해 진지하게 고민하는 동물원임
동물이 아주 많거나 관람이 용이한 구조가 아니지만 입장료는 단 천원이고 좋은 취지에 잘 운영되었으면 하는 바람
산 사면에 위치 대부분 경로가 경사로로 되어 있음
9시부터 5시까지 입장(6시 종료) 가능

입구에 귀여운 수달친구는 2시이후에만 나옴
그 뒤로 호랑이 반달곰 들이 있는데 생기있어 보이는 동물 오랜만에 보고왔음

최근 구조되어 관심이 쏠린 사자 바람이는 맨 위에 있는데상태에 따라 조심스럽게 보호되고 있어서 비디오로만 보일때가 많음.
안쪽에 수풀 사이로 쉬고 있는 모습을 볼 수도 있음

주말이지만 대기시간은 거의 없었고 돌아보기 적당했음
주차 공간도 넉넉했음

다른 동물원보단 따뜻함이 느껴졌던곳
입장가격을 올리고 동물들에 대한 처우개선이 더 이뤄지길 바랍니다

어린이 체험관 어딜가나 비슷비슷하지만 안전에 항상 신경쓰는 모습이 보기좋았어요 놀이공원도 약하지만 가성비가 너무좋았고 어르신들이 친절하섰어요 공룡체험관도 잘도있고 쾌적했어요 동물원은 약간 산속 언덕이라 어린아이 노약자 보행이 불편하면 힘들수도 있어요 가성비 너무좋게 잘 보고왔어요 다음에 또 방문할게요~

여기는 동물원이기도 하지만 동물보호소 성격이 강하다보니 시설은 낙후되었어도 동물들이 관람객을 보면 먼저 다가오기도 하고 아이들이 생기가 있어보여 좋았답니다

주차장도 넓고 동물들도 많고 보슬비가 내려 동물들은 많이 보지 못했지만 다음에 좋은 날씨에 재방문 하고 싶어요

청주동물원 입니다.
정확한 명칭은 청주랜드동물원 입니다.
아주 오래전에 방문했었을때 열악한 환경에 많이 속상했습니다.
이번 방문은 아주 만족했습니다.
공간이 많이 넓어졌고 환경도 개선이 많이 되었습니다.
아무리 좋아도 제한된 공간에 있는 동물원이겠지만 신경을 많이 쓴 흔적이 보입니다.
처음에 수달이 반겨주며 시작을 합니다.
다른 곳들도 많은 개선이 있어서 참 좋았습니다.
지방 동물원이 이렇게 하기 쉽지않겠다 싶습니다.
시에서 그리고 후원이 많을 수록 동물들에게 더 좋은 환경을 만들어주지 않을까 합니다.

입장료는 성인기준 1,000원 입니다.
정말 저렴한만큼 많은 방문을 하셨으면 좋겠습니다.

가성비 최고입니다. 가격대비 동물들이 많고 관리도 잘되어있다는 느낌을 받았어요! 사람도 많지 않아 여유롭게 둘러볼 수 있었어요

바람이 사자를 보는 순간 마음이 뭉클했어요~
먹보와도도 도 평온한 표정으로 지내고 있는거 같았어요~~
동물들이 마음 편하게 있으니 행복해보였어요

저렴한 입장료와 동물의 재활이 목적인 곳으로 다양하고 많은 동물을 볼 수는 없지만 동물을 추모할 수있는 공간도 있어 의미가 있는 장소 입니다

30대 중반 본인입니다.
어렷을적 약 20년 전 소풍이나 나들이로 갔을때 덥고 경사지고 동물원보단 등산에 가까웠던 기억이 있는곳입니다.

최근에 방문했을때는 운좋게 리뉴얼작업이 막바지였습니다. 동물들의 사육공간도 쾌적하고 주변의 시설물이나 조경도 아주 깔끔합니다.
얼마 뒤면 모노레일도 설치된다하니 노약자도 이용하기 좋을듯 합니다.
위치상 경사가 많이 있지만 안내에 따라 다니면 어렵지 않게 둘러볼수 있을것 같습니다.
그늘이나 의자가 곳곳 배치 되어 도시락을 들고와도 좋을것 같아요!
