Ryukyu Glass Village

The glass-making activity was kinda pricey for what you get, and waiting seven days didn't make it any more appealing. We dropped just under ¥9000 for making two glass cups. Props to the staff, though – they were patient and cool with English-speaking tourists.

Recommend making an online reservation or hitting them up early if you want to secure a session on the day of your visit.

A place where you can admire beautiful glass arts. We didn't buy anything, but enjoyed the place.

We found out about this shop and stopped by to look. Ask the glass items are made local. They have items that less than 1000 yen to 500,000 yen . Awesome place if you like glass works ,unique glasses. Plates, vases and everything in between

Large glass gallery and cosy coffee & ice cream shop

If you love glass work, Ryuku Glass Village is definitely worth visiting. Gorgeous works of art made by master craftsman fill the showroom. There’s something for every budget, including an outlet area where the products are 30-50% off the regular price. All the glass is handmade in either Japan or Vietnam (the outlet is mainly Made in Vietnam.) The workshop area is open so you can watch the artists. There’s a fun little game area where you can play two games (spin the wheel and toss the ping pong balls into the glass) and win a product. It’s 500¥ to play and we won a cute heart shaped trinket dish. There’s plenty of parking here and there’s also a Blue Seal out front if you want an ice-cream fix.

Very cool glassware and designs, you can also experience glass making but note, they do not ship outside of Japan.

So cool to see it made. Would have been better if I hadn't gone alone and could speak the language. But got a cool necklace.

This is an incredible complex to visit. It's more than just a store, although there's plenty to buy, from jewelry to all kinds of glassware. It's also an interactive museum of art that shows the history of the craft in Okinawa and teaches visitors how it's done. Beautiful!

Super cool to see them blowing glass right in front of you. A really nice gift shop also with Okinawa unique items. Worth the trip down.

You can blow your own glass for not too much money. You pick it up about 3 days later when it's ready. A large selection of all different prices of glassware are for sale inside.

They will be open from second and third of January!
There’s some events! You can enjoy some local dance performance and local foods! And also you can get 100 percent handmade glass with a very very reasonable price! You cannot miss it!!

During Covid times so only the shop was open, but still very cool. Beautiful local artwork, pleasant surroundings and options for light activities while the main events are suspended. Would love to come back when more is available.

Amazing artistry in glass making. I wish I had more time to watch the artisans at work. Highly recommend for a unique experience and to purchase hand-made glass items!

Nice place. Not to miss on trip to Okinawa

Easy hands-on glass-blowing and making courses. Excellent for kids to just have a go at the experience. Make your own glass cup and take home. If you reside outside of Japan, they can mail in via package to your home country address. Very nice and helpful staff. If you like glassware, there's also quite a wide variety of selection to purchase as gifts or souvenirs. The place is along Route 331, but may be a little challenging to spot on a rainy day.

A great place if you're interested in glass. They do lots of handmade glass on site and have both a gift shop and a high end gallery. They do out source some of their glass in the gift shop to Vietnam, but the locally done and foreign made glass is clearly marked with stickers. They also allow you to assist in making your own glass plate or cup with a reservation. I highly recommend it. It is a bit out the way, but if you have a car you should have no problem.
