Shiba Tofu Shop

You can have the best tofu and meet the great people at this shop. The owners and their family were super nice and friendly. They gifted us many things for us to try/eat and we were forever grateful for their kindness and generosity. They told us to come back to Yakushima soon and we will definitely visit their shop again when we make our way back to the island!

This was some super amazing tofu experience sia! The restaurant itself is a small house, located 1km in from the main road. Can drive up. But the TOFU WAS SO GOOD!!! You gotta eat with salt and legit shiok!!! Must come to this place sia! The owner very friendly also!

Amazing tofu! We took the hamburger and the fried tofu and both was awesome! The hosts ae so nice, they gave us soy milk and and orange juice.

For those who search vegetarian or vegan meal - this is deffenetly the place, but ask for meat/fish ingredients. The burger did contain small amount of meat.

It was like something from a movie. We came on a hot day and enjoyed sitting outside on the little tables enjoying nature and the fresh amazing tofu. For me the tofu set is the best thing to get. Incredible fresh tofu with a little sauce, some soy milk, and crisps from leftover process.

A small couple-run shop making fresh tofu and other soy-related goods that are all delicious. Highly recommend the deep-fried tofu, and okara chips, which you can buy in packets as well.

Insanely good. I have a whole new appreciation for tofu and soy milk since coming here. They reccomend trying the tofu either with a little bit of salt (and they use Yakushima salt too which is really nice) or soy sauce, and man, that texture is wonderful. I told the owners that it was the best tofu I've eaten in my life and they credited it to the purity of the water on Yakushima.
Their tofu hamburgers are also amazing, if you're staying somewhere on Yakushima that has access to a stove or microwave I reccomend trying them out!

I want to give more than 5 stars, this place is amazing!! A random little tofu shop in the middle of the forest. The staff is SO kind and friendly. The tofu was the best of my life. Amazing experience.

Delicious tofu and soy milk, super friendly owners. Our hosts highly recommended this place, and they weren't even big fans of tofu. Definitely worth the trip, and it's not too far away from the beach.

Owners were extremely welcoming, warm and friendly! Tofu is freshly made in their store and tastes amazing. If you're in the area, do check them out!

Delicious homemade soy food! The owner is so nice and the countryside is beautiful! It's 500 Yens the course. Definitely something to try while being in Yakushima!

This tofu shop is the best. The owners are very very friendly...very kind...great at communicating. I will be going back when I visit Japan again...plus Yakushima is a great get away to relax and unwind.

I am Japanese and grew up to eat tofu almost everyday. But here is the best tofu I have ate in my life.

前夜宮之浦で立ち寄ったお店の付き出しでここの厚揚げが出されました。
美味しかったためお店に向かう😊

お店を切り盛りする明るい奥様とお豆腐を作る優しいご主人。仲良しご夫婦❣
できたて熱々ハンバーグをイートインで注文。お店の外で頂く🙏豆乳や厚揚げをサービスしていただきました。お勧めの観光スポットまで案内していただきました😊

工場を覗いていた私に「おから持って帰える？」と言っていただいたのですが、帰路が遠いため泣く泣くお断り😊

お豆腐をお塩で頂きました。
とても美味しかったです！
お豆腐ハンバーグも温めてくれました。
店主さんがとても優しくて温かい気持ちになります。
豆乳はテイクアウトメニューにはありませんでしたが販売してくれました。
是非また行きたいお店です。
