Honestly, I don't believe that we could have had a better stay anywhere else.

The service from start to finish was top tier. The staff does speak English, so I can highly recommend staying here!

The rooms were impeccable. Each onsen had its own charm. The style, decoration, greenery, and layout all feel like it was purposefully and wonderfully blended together for an experience like no other.

This is a true Ryokan experience!

Apologies for the photos all out of order and seemingly random, but you have to experience it all for yourself to truly understand. I did manage to snap photos of the menus in English!

Our final dinner meal did not have a menu and was created by the Chef specifically for my wife (dietary needs) and I. I can assure you that it was just as good, if not the best meal we had during our stay!

Do not be afraid to ask questions about anything regarding your upcoming stay!

I will most definitely be staying here again!

Beautiful grounds, we stayed 3 nights in total. The breakfasts and dinners were delicious, and they accommodated my need for no pork and no diary very mindfully. Loved the yukatas they keep in the rooms, and all the private onsen rooms are wonderful. Absolutely recommend and hope to stay again some day!

Wonderful ryokan and onsen experience on the Izu Peninsula. Great location and little off the beaten path and much quieter than Hakone and other places I’ve stayed. Hanafubuki was clean and well maintained with beautiful gardens surrounding the property and very proximate to the coast. Food and dining experience was amazing - both for breakfasts and dinners. Can’t recommend highly enough!

Amazing experience. We went to tokyo, ktoyo and osaka before coming to this place. After arriving we were amazed by how peaceful and quiet the place is. It was a great change of pace from the bustling big cities. We had 1 luggage per person, the walk from train station wasn’t as bad as some reviews stated, it was a minor downward slope. The staff offered to carry our luggage to our room as we checked in. Though definitely recommend going by taxi when you leave if you have luggages since it’ll be uphill. The tatami in the rooms were very comfortable. We asked for in-room massage service, they were not the strong massage that we expected, we should’ve asked for more intensity but we didn’t. The dinner and breakfast were delicious though not outstanding. The private onsens are the highlights! We were able to find vacant spots when we went at night and in the morning. Overall we really enjoyed our stay.

I am a Japan Specialist for Audley Travel and I have been using the Hanafubuki for my clients for some time. After visiting for a research trip, I am going to double down on its use which is spectacular and conveniently located. There is dedicated english-speaking staff, a stunning layout, and the food alone is worth the expense.
For 17 rooms there are 7 baths, all of which are private.
The meals are the second best I've had in Japan and one of the best of my life, but that first place goes to Narisawa, a 2 star Michelin in Tokyo.

Beautiful ryokan. Great service, they even accommodated to my vegan diet. Onsen was the best part. You’re surrounded by nature (and squirrels) and peacefulness.

My stay at Hanafubuki was nothing short of wonderful. The staff was accommodating and nice, and the food, while not catered to a western palate, was excellent and interesting. The hot springs themselves were amazing. If you decide to stay here, do not miss the morning walk with the surprisingly nimble proprietor of the ryokan. It is definitely worth doing.

Beautiful ryokan with many private onsen baths. Well located at a walking distance from the train station (Izu-Kogen) and near the Izu Peninsula Geopark. Very friendly and helpful staff (most of them speak excellent english). Food was great. Our our room was a bit dated, but still nice and spacious.

The private hot springs are great to enjoy with your friends and family. There are seven on the property each a short walk from each other. While a little pricey, the food and overall experience makes this ryokan well worth the trip.

Loved my overall experience here. Well-designed room with an amazing view, several private onsens, relaxing green surroundings, exquisite japanese food (was just shocked with the lobster that was still moving), and some english speaking staff. Forgot my charger in the room after checking out. I called them and they were able to instantly send it back to me.

Beautiful hot spring resort. Friendly, helpful staff. Spendy, but worth it, with 7 private onsen to choose between, stocked with amenities, and kaiseki meal included (dinner and breakfast). Note that the regular rooms don't have private bathrooms, as showers and toilets are adjoined to the onsen.

What an amazing place can only recomment this for All couples Who want to get away and be truæy relaxed in glorious sorroundings. Only a short walk from the station is this great place located. 7 different baths with 7 different atmospheres. You just hose one and go in. Close and lock the and a red light will show outside telling other that the bath is occupied and not to disturb. Unlike most other onsen these baths are mixed gender.

I went to this place once, 10 years ago, and dreamed about it for years until I could make it back. It's a sanctuary -- the antidote to our crazy world. Put on the traditional Japanese clothes, walk slowly to the private hot spring, soak in the honorable hot water, and then luxuriate over a magnificent kai-seki meal, as beautiful as it is delicious. The train ride down the coast, gazing out at the water, puts you in the mood. One of my favorite destinations on earth.

Fabulous Ryokan! Well designed with much thought put into every detail. Meticulous landscaping to blend well with natural surroundings. Several luxurious private onsens to choose from. Very friendly service staff. Great food too! Enjoyed the morning naturalist walk with the ryokan's knowledgeable guide. Fantastic views along the coast. Highly recommended!
