Really enjoyed staying in a historic building, it felt very authentic. The indoor men's public Onsen is ornate and clean and inviting. The private Onsen are small, but very clean and refreshing. I used the private Onsen at least twice a day: I started my morning with a dip and ended my days with a dip. I also appreciated the discounts offered at nearby locations: the outdoor Onsen at daitokan was gorgeous and the restaurant recommendations were excellent. Staff was very friendly and inviting. We were traveling as a family and got the river view room with private bathroom. That gave us all the benefits of a private room and all the benefits of a hostel for an excellent experience. They've thought of everything: common spaces, coffee in the mornings, cleaning the hostel when most people are out exploring, umbrellas, shoe dryers for the wet days, discounts for common attractions, and of course the beautiful building itself.

The place was great, even better than expected. We had a room with a nice view of the river, and easy access to both private and shared onsen. The house is quite big, includes also a pretty nice lounge area, where you can relax and enjoy the traditional vibe of the house. Quiet, well located, easily accessible, with friendly and helpful staff.

Lovely historic hotel on the river. Nice rooms, good public areas for eating. Very friendly staff. Good communal kitchen. The onsen was of high quality. I would definitely highly recommend.

10/10 best stay here at K's House. Train ride from the airport was kinda rough, but not too bad. Very spacious room with a nice view, onsen was cozy (both private and shared), common space is very comfortable, lots of hallways and floors to roam around, friendly staff, and the area is very convenient. Also sleeping on the floor is actually quite comfortable. Would for sure stay here again when I return to Japan.

So glad we decided to stay here. This is the nicest experience I've ever had in a backpacker's (even in a private room)! The staff spoke amazing English and were incredibly friendly. The building is a beautiful old historic building. The onsens were amazing - there are also two private individual onsens available, so can be logistically trans/tattoo/etc friendly if you're worried about that!! Our room and the common rooms had the most beautiful view over the river and we saw so much bird life. I'll be back next time I travel :)

A perfect stay. Lovely traditional tatami rooms. We stayed in one with a private toilet. The room had a lovely outlook over the river. Inside the accommodation has a warm. Tasteful traditional but also modern feel.

There are several semi private dining areas to choose from and a decent shared kitchen.

We took advantage of the two private onsen that were available. Which is a good experience for westerners who like us might be too shy to try the shared onsen.

Warmly recommended location for staying in Ito. Great price-value ratio

Pro:
- Private and public Onsen available for free inside K's hostel. Nothing fancy but will do the job each day.
- House got a long history, looks amazing and gives you the chance of diving into former eras
- Fluent English skills of the staff
- Great location, not far away from train station, bus stops and directly in the heart of the city with a lots of restaurants and bars
- Clean, save and fairly priced

Best Onsen in Ito!
Stayed here originally in April '23 and loved the place. Clean rooms, fresh air and lovely people.
Came back in Dec for another bath even though I was staying at another place - the water is non chlorinated and really good!l 💪

This was the least expensive and favorite stay of our entire time as a family in Japan. It was a great experience from the incredible 100-year-old wooden labyrinthian house to the comfortable bedding to the pretty onsen to the gorgeous view off our balcony. We could not have enjoyed it more. I tend not to be the hostel age and stage, but really wanted to an authentic, old-school Japanese experience, and this was absolutely perfect. There was a great range of guest ages, spic and span community spaces, helpful staff, and gorgeous grounds. The paper lanterns over the rice-paper adorned balcony as we looked out over the cypress trees to spot koi in the river below was something straight out of my favorite childhood book. Pure magic. We are so thrilled that we spent our last two nights in Japan there. I could not recommend it more highly.

Loved this place so much. Old architecture, which is kind of creeky and loud to slide the doors open and squeaky floorboards, but that's to be expected for a hundred year old wooden building. The guests were kind and quiet.
Free earplugs, Yuukata for 200 yen was very comfy. The futons are very comfy as well.
Onsen was super comfortable. Front desk spoke very good English.
This ryokan and local area made me fall in love with Ito and I will definitely spend a couple days in a private room and explore the town more next trip.
Only a 10 minute walk or so down a nice covered shopping street to the station. The train ride from Atami was gorgeous along the sea side. Great destination.

We stayed here as an Australian family of 5
Service at reception was excellent.. the onsen was excellent and clean. The rooms were clean and cosy.. the central lounge rooms were great and the kitchen facilities had everything we needed … every time we came home the man at the front desk had a little treat for the kids ..

A stay at K's house Ito is an experience by itself. Sleeping and wondering in an historic house with a view on the river, just feels incredible. Finally, the onsen is the perfect way to relax at the end of the day.

Fantastic Ryokan in a great location with all amenities on site. Lovely furnishings and lounge area looking out onto river. Very helpful friendly and welcoming staff. Room was superb. Great onsen on site .Had a wonderful Shiatsu massage on site as well. Restaurant recommendations all printed and mapped and staff helped with anything we asked of them , English speaking which was really great. Highly recommend a stay here when in Ito.

Loved our stay - we opted for the room with shower and toilet as travelling with our 3yo and it was great. The view from the balcony over the river was worth the price alone! Loved sleeping on futons together.
The noise is very obvious and a little stressful trying to keep your child quiet 🫠 It was too hot to really enjoy the onsen but great that it's there and we enjoyed the experience of a quick soak together. Can highly recommend staying here.... I'd say it's good enough reason to come to Itō!!

The staff was so friendly, they really helped us a lot by booking tickets, restaurants, etc. they made our trip so much easier. The hostel is in an old house, it’s very traditional, which we really liked. Our room with the private balcony was great, it was really relaxing to just sit out there and watch the river which flows by the hotel. They have very nice common areas too, the hostel has a lot to offer.

Well run historical ryokan and onsen. Beautiful building, some refurbished areas. Overlooking a stream, near to the sea. Very peaceful, relaxing.

This 300 year old building is beautifully imperfect. The onsen is cleaned daily and taken great care of by the incredible staff!
Thank you Yukio, Marta, Dorna and the rest of the staff for doing such an amazing and hospitable job :)
