Amazing place - lots of atmosphere and grace. Nice photo spots and lovely cats....

An amazingly peaceful place. A bit off the beaten path, but well worth it. My only regret is that I wasn’t able to visit when the monks in training were there! Take your time and soak in the history and feel of this sacred place.

One of the huge temples in Ichikawa, Chiba. Wooden bridges interconnecting the temples. 5 stories pagoda is one of the main attractions. A must visit place in Sakura season. I went in autumn. A beautiful view of the long street to the temple.

Very nice temple. Wide premises, beautiful old buildings and plants. Adorable cats walk around. Easy to spend an hour or two especially in good season. Not far from the railway station. Wide parking available.

This is a stunning temple complex which we saw in the run up to Tanabata. There are several incredible things to see here including an original Buddhist temple with Indian-style architecture. It is set in beautiful surroundings and we never would have found this place without my friend who took us here as a part of a tour of her hometown. The atmosphere is very peaceful as it is in many of Japan's temples, particularly those outside of Tokyo. Very much recommend visiting if you are in the area.

Great history walk. Little shops on the street were pretty. You can see many temples in this area. Make a stop at “額堂“ for a little sweet break. I will come back for sakura full blooming season!!

国指定重要文化財となっている法華経寺を2023年12月27日に訪れました。境内は新年の準備もほとんど終わり初詣客を待つばかりといった感じでした。境内は訪れる人も少なく、じっくり撮影することができました！！
また、法華経寺参道に建つ食堂や土産物店は数軒ですが、時代の流れを感じさせるレトロ感がたまりません。「おくりものにたばこ」というキャッチフレーズは、昭和の雰囲気を今に残す貴重な存在と思います。

日蓮宗の荒行の修業場として有名なココ、法華経寺。節分のイベントで大勢が訪れる中行ってきました。

豆を中心にお菓子が飛び交います。子供達は大興奮で飛んでくるお菓子をキャッチします。大きな袋は必携です。ただし、最低でも３０分は開始前に訪れる必要があります。

車で行きましたが、寺の駐車場にたどり着く前に参道の入り口のコインパーキングに停めて訪れました。

ちなみに毎年11月～2月にかけての100日間、「日蓮宗大荒行堂」という場が開設、日蓮宗の秘法を求める僧侶が全国から100名近く集い荒行（午前2時の起床から1日7回の行水、その他の時間はお堂の中で読経・写経を延々と続ける修行）を行う僧がゾロゾロと歩いていました。

真冬でも足袋を履けないことや、麻の薄い装束を身に纏うこと、食事は朝夕に白がゆのみと大変厳しい修行ですが、この修行を終えた僧侶は日蓮宗の御祈祷を行える位の高い僧侶になることができるとのこと。

修行の厳しさから、天台宗比叡山で行われる千日回峰行（せんにちかいほうぎょう）・インド仏教の修行＝ヨーガに並ぶ世界三大荒行として知られている模様です。

おひな祭りの時期になったので、中山までいってきました。中世以来の名刹ですが、人も多くなく静かにお詣りできました。まだまだひな祭りで多くのお雛様を観れるので、暖かい日にお出かけしてみてはいかがでしょう。

四季折々の景色が楽しめます。桜の季節には、とても満開の花道を見ることができます。レジャーシートを敷いての花見は出来ませんが、今まで見た中では素晴らしい景色だと感じました。

秋の骨董市が11/15〜11/18の日程で行われています。駐車場は満車だったので、車での来場は避けた方が良いです。
又、荒業をされているお坊さん達の読経が聞こえてきたり、お姿を遠くから拝見することが出来ました。

祖父が奉納した10分の1スケールの三重の塔を見に行きました。

丁寧に扱われていてとても嬉しく思いました。

活気がありとてもエネルギーが高い場所です。

参道に、歩行者だけでなく、自転車や車も頻繁に通る為、やや注意してね。
周辺に複数の寺院の建物が在る。
全体的に雰囲気は佳い。
足腰を鍛える散歩にも適していますが、骨付きチキン🍗が美味い肉屋さんとか、美味しい店が点在する。歩いてカロリー消費しても、食べてしまい、また上がる💦

市川街歩きの会で訪問。ひな祭りの最中で沢山の雛人形が飾られていました。参道横のお墓には美智子上皇の親類のお墓があるそうで、美智子上皇もお参りに来たことがあるそうです。
