Great food and great service in a tiny little space. There is an efficient queue out front and they get you right in. There is an English menu and they are understanding. The beer is cold and the Udon is hot or cold depending on your preference. Overall a great experience not far from Nara Park.

The curry udon is truly fantastic. The fried chicken that came with it was also amazing and a very generous portion. The dipping noodles were underwhelming and blander than expected. We showed up as a party of 2 on a Saturday around noon and were able to be seated immediately, though the restaurant was packed.

Came here after spending a morning at Nara Park as the kids love udon and wanted to find a comforting warm meal on a cold winter day. This place did not disappoint. The flavours in the soup were perfectly balanced and their karaage chicken was super juicy and delicious. Their servings are very generous. They do request their guests to order a minimum one dish per guest. There was also a small line but we entered super quickly and waited perhaps only five minutes to be guided to our seats at the back. Super kid/family friendly as they have high chairs for younger toddlers and also offered children’s cutlery sets. The waitress also spoke English and were super friendly. Highly recommend!

Definitely the best udon I had eaten and I am not one who particularly like thick noodle. There were many tempura sides, rice cake, fish tube, fried chicken, prawn. We had spicy udon with beef as well. It was great. The ginger paste goes well with the broth serve in claypot.

Best udon of my life. Got the curry udon with chicken tempura. The chicken tempura was some of the best fried chicken I’ve ever had (being from the south, that’s huge). The noodles soaked up the flavor of the curry and were perfectly cooked. They did not get soggy at all.

There was a line but the restaurant is super efficient so it went pretty quickly. My partner got udon with concentrated broth and shrimp tempura. He added chicken to have some additional protein since it just came with a few shrimp. He added one piece of chicken but wished he had added two since it was so delicious.

This is an absolute must try in Nara.

Very delicious udon with a variety of soups to choose from. This time we chose to try the classic dashi soup stock, tsukemen soup, and curry soup and everything tasted great. The curry may have been a bit too salty for me personally. However, every dish was considered quite cheap compared to the amount we were served. The karaage was super good!

The store is located in the shopping street right outside Kintetsu-Nara Station and a great spot to end your adventures before heading home.

Best udon we've had in Japan. The curry udon was delicious and very unique - it was our favorite dish of the many meals weve had here. The chicken was perfectly crispy. Dish came very hot and we had to wait for it to cool down a bit. Lunch service ends at 3 and we got there at 2:30 pm, and it didnt feel too rushed but they definitely wanted everyone done by 3.

One of the best udon shop in Nara. Hot bowl of noodles will warm you up in winter. Located in the heart of the city and close to Nara park. Very friendly staff and nice service.

10/10. Can’t find any flaws here. the food was great. Atmosphere was great, and the staff were very friendly. And portion was massive.
We loved the fish broth udon. Highly recommend to try!

This was a near perfect lunch place after a long walk in Nara park interacting with the deer. The beer was cold, the chewy noodles were perfect and tempura was done to perfection. the service was impeccable.

I can not recommend this place enough.
I ordered Chicken Tempura Udon and my partner ordered Beef Udon (とり天うどん＆肉うどん).

My Chicken Tempura was already so good, yet when my partner shared me her one last piece udon and a very tiny bit a beef left in her bowl. It was 5 times better than my meal.

※For context she usually never finish her meal and left a tons for me to eat, no matter the portion.

Have I mention the price is too good to be true ? Because it is :)

Very good noodles. We got the soup with tempura chicken and the filling noodles made with short rib. They both hit the spot. There’s a little line but it moved quickly! cash only FYI

We tried three different types of udon. The cold one, the one with chicken broth and the one with the curry.

They were all great in different ways!

And the tempura were made perfectly!

Kitchen was quite speedy, and the waitress was friendly.

Stopped here for a late lunch before making our way to the Nara Park. There were a couple of people waiting already, but luckily they are super well-organized and we could take a seat after waiting for no more than 5 minutes.
Food: my girlfriend is a huge udon noodles addict, and she loved it! Personally, I’m not that much of a fan, but it was okay. However, the tempura chicken was amazing! So crispy, juicy and flavorful! It ended up a very satisfying lunch for both of us.

It was a rainy morning so we decided to get some udon. We were lucky to get a table for 2 without a queue as we arrived there at 11am. Since it was raining, without a doubt, we ordered some piping hot udon. We ordered the Nabeyaki Udon and Spicy Nabeyaki Udon, with an added topping of rice cake. Let me tell you, the noodle? The right amount of chewiness. The broth? Clear but full of depth. The toppings? Cherry to the ice-cream. The tempura rice cake almost sent me to heaven (only if you like chewy food)

FYI, the spicy Nabeyaki udon isn’t spicy at all, but it definitely added some kick to the soup. The soup itself is already amazing. They even sell their Dashi stock so you can make your own soup dish! If you are coming in a party of 2 especially in a chilly weather, definitely order Nabeyaki Udon.

I tried the cold noodles with dipping sauce and tempura prawns. It was delicious and udon was chewy and nice. We set at the back with view of the garden.

Really yummy and chewy udon. Was searching for an option without a fish broth and the soy milk dipping was the perfect option.

We absolutely loved it. Really delicious udon noodle dishes at very reasonable prices (900-1,100 yen). The highlight had to be the curry udon soup with (boneless) tempura chicken. Don't miss.

The Udon is really delicious, one of the best we tasted. Price is very reasonable. If u r going to Nara, this is a nice place for lunch. Take note that the shop close at 3pm for break.
