Akan Yuku no Sato Tsuruga

In a village next to lake Akan, there is a very nice hotel that has huge rooms! This hotel even has a hot spring bathtub on your balcony. There are also activities available like snow mobiles and atv riding.

Fireworks will go off at Lake Akan at 20:00, and at that time, the restaurant lights will be turned off. The service staff are very polite.
The baths are on the 1st and 8th floors, and the men's and women's baths alternate on even-numbered days and odd-numbered days. Both are large and pretty wonderful baths and open-air baths are the best.

Looks like the hotel was recently renovated with the concept of Ainu and I believe it went successful. Many in-store shops. Fine views of Akan-ko. Onsen was not seemingly a genuine one but the facility was well maintained. Good services provided. Better change the carpet and wall paper of the stairs as some parts were ripped off.

This is the second time i stayed here. we always book the room with private hot spring. Room is large, clean. Staffs are very friendly as usual. The only thing this time was the size of the hot spring tub which is oval is seems smaller. We also tried their in-room dinning this time. The food was excellent!

This hotel served a wide variety of dishes for breakfast and dinner and it was absolutely delicious. We booked a room with a private onsen and it was worth it as the room had great views of the lake, the beds were comfortable and best of all was the private onsen! Service was the best we experienced throughout Japan as the staff bowed and greeted us wherever we went. It was an amazing night here. We will definitely be back

Love this hotel with 2type of onsen. They serve nice dinner courses.. the room is clean and nice.. the service is good. Just walking distance to the local souvenir shop.

Beautiful hotel with some of the best public baths I’ve visited in Hokkaido. Roof top and lake side are both beautiful. Great staff, a very wide range of food at the buffet, shops in the hotel and a very comfortable room. Fantastic stay for a special occasion.

The space of the room is pretty large(especially the toilet/shower, you know. Most of the toilet/shower is tiny in JP). I love all the traditional Aynu decorations in the lobby and restaurant. The foods in the cafeteria are diversified and delicious. Maybe the best hotel I've ever stayed in Hokkaido.

Akan Yuku no Sato Tsuruga has two large and unique outdoor hot spring baths located on the first and roof top of the hotel. The secluded bath on the first floor overlooks the lake shore, while the bath on roof top has commanding views of the lake as well as the surrounding mountains and forests. Both are the pride of the hotel and offer stunning vistas only possible at Lake Akan. Lose yourself as you soak away your physical and mental stress in the rejuvenating hot spring waters.

Nice place to stay over, it has clean room and spring with great view of akan lake. If pay more you could have larger room and better view, but I think room is definitely not the point you need to consider, because this is a spring hotel! Spring is our target!

Good location, great tatami room, separate WC (in our room), excellent buffet, onsen. Lake Akan winter activities (snowmobiling, ice fishing, banana boat) outside hotel. We saw fireworks shows on Friday and Saturday nights. Akan Japanese Crane Center in the area, highly recommend.

This is possibly the best onsen bath I have ever been to in Japan. The variety is incredible, with rocky caves, jet tubs of every description waterfall stalls, really hot Finnish spruce plank saunas, and unbelievable lakeside view outdoor pools, literally 2 feet away from the lake. I didn't want to leave.
The wife and I are actually staying at Akan no Mori Tsuruga Resort Hana Yuka, and the neat thing is that they have a shuttle van waiting out front day and night to take us 5 blocks down the road to the sister hotel which belongs to the same chain.
The Ainu sculptures in the lobby have to be seen as well, it's just like an art gallery.
Catch a 3500 yen tour bus out here from Kushiro station bus depot, you will be driven by Kussharo lake, Iozan sulphur mountain, and also Mashu lake, considered to be the clearest water in the world. The value can't be beat. Check out the Ainu totem poles by the Lakeside park!

Superb room with modern renovation. Best to take time to walk along the Lake Akan. The Nordic walk is also recommended.
Outdoor onsen on 8/F is terrific with view to the Lake Akan.

A very nice Osen Hotel with excellent onsen facilities, the location is far from Sapporo though, it is worth to take a several hours of coach riding. The Onsen for men has different zones and I like the outdoor Onsen and Rooftop Onsen the most. It will take turns for men and women to occupy the onsen area. The food here has a large range of from Japanese cuisine like Shashimi, local Hokkaido dishes to even western Cheese and Breads and beef. Excellent Experience!

Best onsen ever! They have so many different baths! And the rotenburo is absolutely beautiful!

super good hotel with such a wide variety of hot spring spa/ bath. it reminds of the movie, " spiritual away" it is real Yuya, bath house. Other hotel amenity is quite good, too. Highly recommended.

Heavenly place . Good food. Shoppings souvenirs galore. North face, outdoor wears r abundant , food n drug store in front of our hotel. Love our room facing lake akan. Selections of yukata n many more.

I love this place. I want to revisit here someday. Every aspect was so awesome, both the dinner and breakfast buffets, the onsen, and the character of the hotel exceeded all expectations.
