法然上人二十五霊場の札所。駐車場の入口がやや入りにくいかも。

浄土宗の開祖、法然。
法然がどれだけ凄い人かは言わずもがなだが、ここ香久山の麓にも彼のゆかりのお寺がある。
境内は綺麗に掃き清められ気持ちがいい。
「香久山や麓の寺はせまけれど 高きみのりを説きて弘めむ」
かって法然が一般庶民に「南無阿弥陀仏」の専修念仏を広め、皆の幸せを祈ったのはいまの世まで間違っていない。
宗教は一部貴族のためではなく、日本に生きる全ての人のため。
法然はそれを実践した。
