As a huge fan of My Neighbor Totoro (a Studio Ghibli film), this place made me squeal with delight as it is a replica of the main house shown in the movie. Note that there is no English tour but they provide a handout with English text. The tour guide was also very nice as she took my photos in different spots here.

Best to take note of the bus schedule here as it is quite a long walk from the nearest train station.

If you are a big fan of the movie Totoro, this place is recommended. You can only be here for 1 hour and they will devide you in to 2 groups (30 minutes inside, and 30 minutes outside). The level details they have inside the property is amazing. Please take a look very carefully like a hidden door, etc. since I missed a couple of the details. You need to booked the ticket from their website. DO NOT come without reservation. They have a certain schedule when you can go in, so please check schedule at least 24 hours before.

A MUST VISIT place for Ghibli fans! There’s so much detail, it’s insane! The ticket is ¥510 for adults, you can explore the house from the inside, and I mean inside —INSIDE! You can go through their drawers, closets, boxes, practically EVERYTHING!
The upper floor is closed off to the public, but one of the guides explained why, it helps if you speak a little bit of Japanese, if you look super closely at the stairs going up, you’ll notice a couple of nuts on the steps, and that’s the reason they don’t let you go upstairs!
I’m definitely going to go back again, I’ve heard it changes according to the season! ^.^
I highly recommend coming here, whether you’re a fan of Ghibli or the movie, “My Neighbor Totoro”, it’s the perfect place! I had so much fun here! I felt like a total kid looking through Satsuki and Mei’s stuff! I haven’t had this much fun in a LONG, LONG time. Best ¥510 ever spent. You can get tickets on spot!
There’s also a bus running throughout the whole park, you can get to their house by bus or by walking. The bus is free inside the park.
Access: You would need to get off the main Nagoya subway’s Higashiyama line’s last stop, Fujigaoka and change to the Linimo line, and get off at the Ai-Chikyuhaku Kinen Koen station and then you can walk inside the park and find the bus stop pretty easily, or you could walk, there are signs everywhere, so you won’t get lost! I hope you have as much fun as I did! ^.^

It’s great place to visit!! If you used to watch Tonari no Totoro, you might be getting excited. It’s similar to the old Japanese styled house

its a little bit difficult to get tickets if you dont know how to use the ticket booths. The visit is definitely worthwhile, surrounding parklands is absolutely stunning in Autumn.

So so cool! It's incredible how similar it is to the anime. My girls go here every year and sit on the porch. They love looking for dust mites and pumping water out back. You'll find other attractions at the park to keep your little ones busy too. A lovely place to visit for the day.

If you are a studio ghibli fan this is the place to go in Nagoya. It’s part of a larger park called earth brother. You have to pay a small fee of 500 yen and I think it was 300yen for children. The house is exactly as it is shown in the movie! My kids loved the experience. Please note that Photos can only be taken from outside the house!

Totoro!!! Very good attention to detail in this large park. You're allowed 15 minutes inside the house without photos and 15 minutes outside the house to take photos. Get tickets in advance. English flyers are available, but no English tour guides...wasn't a problem for us though. Have fun!

There is an English pamphlet, but the guide is in Japanese. But the guide says many things that are on the pamphlet. They change the contents of the house for each season. It's quite cold in the winter/fall, so dress warm!

Satsuki and Mei’s house is a part of Morikoro park in Nagakute. It is a well landscaped Japanese garden complete with a tea house. The matcha and accompanying sweet were superb. This is the best season to visit with autumn foliage and cool weather.
