Unagi Pie Factory

Interesting factory and you can see behind the scene of the making of Unagi Pie from behind a glass window. The entrance is free and they give you a small gift of Unagi pie at the entrance. On the website, it is mentioned that you can reserved a special tour. The place is pretty small and you can explore the place in 10-15 minutes. Other than exploring, there is a video you can watch about the factory itself (I believe it was all in Japanese and no (English)subtitle). There is a nice cafe that was the best and unique experience of the entire visit of this place. Lastly, there is a souvenir shop. Outside there is also a truck where they sell ice desserts. As everyone mentioned, it is recommend to visit here if you have a car. The place is quite far from tge nearest station. I walked from the factory to the closest Aeon shopping mall and it takes about 30 minutes. The closes bus stop takes you around 20 minutes walk up and down hill( not to mention the bus comes very seldom). I would not recommend to go here the way I did (by bus&foot).

Who loves unagi pie? It's a beautiful and clean factory that you can visit or tour. They give you a free Unagi pie when you enter at the factory. Such a great experienced.

*If you want unagi pie confections without having to walk or taxi out into an agricultural zone, every major train station and tourist stop sells these snacks.*

No matter how I tried to route it, Google Maps couldn't provide me with a feasible route via bus to get here, with the closest bus stop to the Unagi Pie Factory in front of an Aeon Shopping Mall. From this stop, it'll take 30 minutes to walk to the factory through farmland with some unpleasant overgrowth on sidewalks.

The factory itself was pretty neat; witnessing the process of creating and baking this famous sweet snack was fascinating.

The restaurant upstairs incorporates the namesake snack into every conceivable dish, so expect dessert dishes to exceed your expectations in terms of sweetness.

The gift shop on the ground floor of the factory also has some seasonal or exclusive snack items.

You will not be alone in this popular pastry factory. Not only will you get to see the famous unagi pie being made and boxed up for sale, but you will get to try it too! I recommend getting the shaved ice on the top floor and taking a picture with the big model unagi. For the Americans out there, this pie is not the pie you are thinking of. It’s more of a thin biscuit that’s buttery, salty and crunchy - in other words yum!

What a great place to visit. First time to visit the Unagi Pie Factory with my family and everyone had a great time. Free samples, a cafe, Unagi Pie movie, and seeing and smelling the production line was just great.

So fun to see the production process and some history of the unagi pie.

Nice stop to see the factory processes up close. Unagi Pies are really yummy and I haven't seen them sold elsewhere in Japan, aside from at the Narita Airport. A rarer omiyage, so to speak. Also very affordable haha XD they even sell "rejects" at a heavily discounted price, but it's Japan, so I hardly consider them to be rejects in any way.
