Sakura no Sato

Honestly one of the best meals we have had in our Japan trip so far. Highly recommend the Oyakudon + udon set of Y1850 to try the best of their food items.

There is free parking for the restaurant at the back. And do come early to avoid queues. We came at 11am (their opening time) during a weekday and it was already full.

Possibly the best cold udon I had for a long time. The chicken don is the main selling point, but the udon still beats it. Nice little family style restaurant. You may find many other foreigners like yourself dining at this location. English menu is available.

The oyako don is the best we ever had. The udon is also light and flavorful.

I actually thought I ordered the wrong item. Their specialty is the Mother and Child rice bowl, but I got the cold dipping udon instead. I was glad I chose that! I've never had cold dipping udon before and it was amazingly delicious. The udon slurps so smoothly! Get the choice that comes with both soup flavours. You get to experience both tastes!

Went there for lunch during the cherry blossom week, it’s quite a popular restaurant, there’s always a long queue, but it’s well worth the wait. The Hinai chicken oyakodon is incredibly delicious, a must try!!

Always seem to end up here when visiting Kakunodate. Great food in a comfortable atmosphere. Right on the main Street with parking in the rear.

親子丼と稲庭うどんのセットミールと単品できりたんぽをオーダー。
きりたんぽはアチアチで味噌の風味が食欲そそります。
親子丼は比内地鶏の鳥肉と玉子だったかな。
炭火で焼かれたあとに煮込まれているみたいで香ばしくてムチムチな鳥肉が美味しいです。
稲庭うどんは初めてでしたが細い平麺でシコシコした食感で楽しいですね。キレキレのかつお出汁と相性抜群でした。
駐車場がお店の裏にあるのもありがたかったです。
