Showa Town

A very nice place, not just a road, a whole village looks like Japan in the 60/70s. For us a very exciting visit there.

It's the area with Showa museum and teamlab. Please give it a visit to learn true Japanese early modern culture.

Had a fun time, lots of old things to see from the Shōwa Era ☺

You can feel the old Japan here. Very nicely decorated. Took lots of pictures. The 3D animation workshop is fun (shown in photo).

Loved it, for those who don't know anything this is a little post world war II Japanese town that has preserved a lot of things from the post war period. If you like antiques, history, old memorabilia etc this is definitely worth visiting. Good for all ages, some restaurants offer old styled menus and served in an old style so you can see what things were like during the period. The museum has thousands of toys, old posters, things from the 1964 Olympics and old world fairs etc, there is a lot packed in there. Theres also a life sized example of a traditional house that you can sit down in. Old cars etc. Restaurants and shops in the area also have lots of antiques and things on display or for sale. Even the coke vending machines are old models with old recyclable glass bottles. A bit of English explanation is included in the museum about the origin and purpose of the toys which I appreciated a lot because the story behind it is very good to know.

This is a great little shopping area. You can really feel what Japanese was like during the 60s and 70s. Is like going back in time.

駐車場あり、トイレあり。昭和の給食も食べられるお店あります。レトロカーやレトロな街並みと半日十分に楽しめます。50代のお父さん、お母さんは、子供たちに昔話しながら見学を楽しめます。

快晴。豊後高田商工会議所隣のパーキング（入庫時から24時間で４００円）に早朝着。誰もいない。散策する。早朝の商店街。あちこちで開店準備。店同士の日常会話が聞こえる。ご近所付き合い。昭和の町。数時間彷徨う。いつの間にか大いに賑わっていた。賑わい見せる昭和の町に迷い込んたかのよう。コロッケと学校給食を食す。どちらも自分の口にピッタリ合う味。美味い。ノスタルジック。昭和。もう会えない昭和。そんな昭和に是非会いに行ってみてください。

新しいお店とかありました。
昭和の雰囲気をゆっくり楽しめました。

昭和の時代にタイムスリップした感じを楽しめます。私たちは、祝日16時くらいに到着して町を見回りましたが、正直時間が足りませんでした。写真スポットが多く、とても楽しめました。また来たいです^_^

大分県中津市にある街中が
とても昭和レトロでゆっくり散策すると癒されます。懐かしい商品も買えます。昭和の展示会館も必見ですよ🎵

大分観光で来ました。
ちゃちゃっと街ぶらして帰るだろうと思い
時間配分を短く取ってたのですがミスでした。
しっかり見ようとすると食事含め3時間ほどは
いるのではないでしょうか。
有料で入るところは入ったほうが絶対楽しめます。
写真スポットもあり雰囲気もとてもよく大満足でした。

面白かった!

古くなった街の建物を観光用に工夫してる。全盛期には400件の商店が商いをして賑わっていた説明を観光協会のおばちゃんが説明をしてくれた。
通りすがりでたちよっただけだが料理等も美味しく
いい時間でした。

「ナミヤ雑貨店の奇蹟」のロケ地。
映画の雑貨店は今は美容院になっていましたが、木箱の牛乳箱は雑貨店にそのまま、看板は昭和ロマン蔵に保存されていました。感激😭
昭和の町並み、昭和の車や、色々なものが
懐かしく、楽しかった。

５年ぶりに訪問しました。昭和30年代生まれの方から、昭和40年代後半生まれくらいまでの方ならば、心にヒットするアイテムが多数展示されています。
子供の頃、遊んでたオモチャや、集めてた物など、今となっては理解できないかもしれない物の数々が、ココにはあります。
数ヶ月まえ湯布院昭和館にも行きましたが、ココの展示物のほうが、はるかにバリエーションが多いですね。
よくぞ、ココまで集めたなと。（コレクター魂ですね）
無料、観覧スペースでも十分楽しめますが、是非とも、有料エリアの展示物を見て欲しいと思います。
子供の頃、普通〜に接していた物の数々の思い出がよみがえります。

都合4回目の訪問です。
大分に上陸した際は、必ずここに寄るくらい大好きな街です。
何度行っても心踊らされます。
今回は早朝の訪問だった為、通りを貸し切り状態でした。
いつまでも残して頂きたい、そんな場所です。
