the tamagawa river 玉川is cobalt blue & flows along dakigaeri valley from lake tazawako to kakunodate

there is the beautiful 80m red bridge Kami-no-Iwabashi & the lone pine on the outcrop rock

3 short tunnels and the waterfall Mikaeri-no-taki回顾瀑布.

One of the most beautiful places I've seen. Seems like it's out of a movie set. Quiet and not crowded. Note that hiking to the waterfall takes 30 mins single way.

Have you ever seen such a deep blue river water ? These photos are unedited and unfiltered. This is the first time that I've been captivated by such enhancing blue hues, standing mesmerized at a small spot for over thirty minutes.

I like to stroll around the place. You get to enjoy the view and sound of fountains and rivers.

Of course, you need to pick the time to visit there for better view. However, the stroll itself is healing to the soul.

Just bear in mind to wear thicker cloths to keep you warm since it’s deep inside, temperature compared to outside is rather low.

The only thing was we went during weekday, surprisingly there are many tourists. Since they are following bus tour, you feel that there are rushing around. Aside from this, it is wonderful!

Beautiful hike near Kakunodate along a gorge with stunning bright blue water. The trail is sadly currently cut short - to approximately 3 km - due to landslide damage.

I love this place. From Tazawako station you can easily access the valley with taxi.
+ In autumn it's super beautiful and offers a lot of great sights especially the Migaeri waterfall.
- Unfortunately the path is rather short. You don't need to spend a lot of time here.

Beautiful walk or hike along a gorge with amazing scenery any time of the year. Didn't get to go as far as we wanted due to the trail being washed out from typhoon 19 but loved what we did get to see. Absolutely worth the trip for anyone visiting Kakunodate who also loves beautiful nature trails!

If you are afraid of heights, you will be afraid to walk on the suspension bridge. In the past, it seems that they crossed while holding each other and passed by.

A nice spot with a gorgeous view. Free parking. A little ramen shop available. Check the photos.
