Utsunomiya Futaarayama Shrine

Utsunomiya’s main shrine around 5 minutes drive from the station.

Beautiful shrine near to the Utsunomiya station. You can walk to this shrine from the Utsunomiya castle ruins. It is needed to climb many stairs to reach the shrine. Very big torii gate.

I visited Utsunomiya Futaarayma Shrine in March and it was really nice! I came from Nikko by train and the Shrine was close to the Utsunomiya train station and easy to find. The area was really pretty and I would definetely visit again! It didn’t cost anything. Also if you are visiting Nikko from Tokyo by train and you have to stop in Utsunomiya I would recommend you to see the Shrine!

Whilst the weather was inclement; it was definitely worth the visit to see this shrine - hopefully I can return during spring or autumn.

The arch of the Shintoism's shrine is too large structure on the side of road in city. Even events happen here, like Kekkon(marriage) or any special occasion. It has many structures of deities, and red colored Tori gates take through them from outer world to the inner spiritual world. I love this big shrine here, the customs locals do here in a que is not faded here unlike other city places. One must experience this through a visit and following the things that are prescribed earlier.

It is a beautiful temple with a good atmosphere.

This is a Shrine which is famous here In Tochigi Utsunomiya city. A lot of lot of visitors visit this shrine due to ancient history as well as receiving positive mind blessing for this shrine as the believers truly trust. Strong belief is very important to receive the blessing even other religions. It’s located middle of the Utsunomiya city as well as Utsunomiya city train station near, city office is also near, well it’s very famous and location is popular around. Futaarayama jinja is a famous shrine described in the Engishiki "Procedures of the Engi Era": a Japanese historic book about laws and customs.

There is a gate where you've climbed the 95 stone steps from the omote-sando (front approach).

I tried the road on the northwest side, but it’s a tough slope.
