平成24年4月1日、市内中心市街地の西部地区の消防・救急事情に対応するため、岡山市消防局管内14番目となる「今出張所」が運用開始されました。
当出張所は、近年大型量販店等の店舗進出が目覚しく、急速に都市化が進行する岡山市西部地区の新たな防災拠点として、岡山市北区下中野1223－6に整備され、消防・救急業務に対応できる諸施設を擁し、最大4台までの車両が格納できる車庫と、庁舎屋上には太陽パネルによる電力供給施設を配備すると共に、女性職員が当直可能な生活スペースを確保した出張所施設です。
