Tsukasa Sushi

This sushi restaurant is run by an elderly couple. There are only 5 seats at the bar and 2 Japanese style tables (each for 4 people). Their food is great. The atmosphere is very charming and entertaining. If you have time and would like to experience Japanese homey sushi bar, you will enjoy it here.

There were no many restaurants around this Kanai. When we went there, it was bit late. The chef and the lady ( may be chef's wife) warmly welcome us. I ordered sushi. I ate sea snail sushi first time. It is not very tasty but better to try at least once. My wife is pregnant. Therefore, the chef kindly prepare a baked fish for us. They gave a miso soup with shrimp heads. It is also really great. They don't give a formal bill, just told us the price (2200Yen). However, the chef said 2000 Yen is enough and no need 200 Yen. The reason was that we ( me and my wife) were a lovely couple. They are so kind. Even though they cannot speak English, they tried their best to communicate with us with the help of other customers. It is a really warm and nice place.

The sushi here was amazing, but what made the experience perfect was the super sweet owners of the place, and the kind, friendly, and helpful regular patrons of the place.

The chef and his wife were so kind and caring, despite not speaking any English (and us barely able to speak Japanese). They kept the place open for us, gave us the most delicious sashimi on the house, and made us feel so welcome.

All the other regular patrons we met at the restaurant were really friendly and went out of their way to help us translate everything we wanted to order. If you're in Sado Island, please come here for sushi.

Not only was the sushi delicious (super fresh fish and the rice was so sweet) the other patrons are so friendly they mailed people they knew nearby who speak English and made them come immediately to be translators! Also one gentleman seated at the counter spoke some English and was shyly translating for us initially and insisted on shaking hands before we left.

You also know the food is amazing when the farmer who supplies the rice dines there, and the chef himself is an avid fisherman (couldn’t quite catch if he catches the fish himself but they pointed to a painting behind the counter of a fish he’d caught before).

All in all, an amazingly local experience in every sense of the word (one of the locals advised its a ‘regulars only’ joint so as soon as we walked in they knew which hotel we were from) - plus incredibly affordable prices. Absolutely going back before we leave Sado Island!

ばってらが美味しい！と有名なお寿司屋さん。
ご年配のご夫婦お二人でやられています。
お寿司はどのネタも厚切りで魚の脂もタプタプの絶品。
バッテラは、押し寿司でも魚の脂を感じるほどの旨みでした。二人でバッテラと中にぎりを注文して満腹になりました。
お近くのビジネスホテルに宿泊される方には特におすすめです！

近場での宿泊だったため寄らせていただきました。たびのホテル佐渡より徒歩数分の交差点にあります。
出で立ちは入り難いかもしれませんが、結論、美味い。安い。思わずおなか一杯食べてしまいました。
寿司らしい寿司を食べ慣れてるわけではありませんが、私が普段食べるお寿司より明らかに新鮮で美味い。ご主人も気さくに話しかけてくれますし、地元の方との会話を聞いているのも心地よいですね。
なによりバッテラが美味かった！またきたいお店です。

バッテラ本当に美味しかったです。鱈の味噌漬け焼きも刺し身も美味しかったです。
また、佐渡にうかがって食べたいです。

ホテル近くの昔ながらのお寿司屋さんですが、刺身の新鮮さがとんでもないです。
コリコリアワビに驚愕します。

近くのビジネスホテルに泊まりました。周辺の食事処は日曜日がほとんどお休みでした。司寿司を検索したところ評価が良かったのでいってみました。店内は古いですが大将と奥さんの優しい人柄と佐渡観光スポットを丁寧に教えてくれたり大将の趣味話し(海釣り)もしてくれたりと、とても楽しい時間が過ごせました！お寿司も新鮮で身も厚く食べごたえがありました。是非、また来る機会があれば立ち寄りたいです。

ゴールデンウィーク初日に観光客として来店。周辺の居酒屋は席が空いてても「今いっぱいなんでごめんなさい」と断られてしまいました。やはり、地元の人優先なのかなぉと凹んでいました。ホテルにも近く、最後の賭けでしたし"寿司”なのでちょっと気が引けましたが、こちらに入店。
親父さんもママさんも常連さんがいるにもかかわらず、私たちを気にかけてくれて、食事もお酒もオススメしてくれて、食べて飲んで、観光本には書いてないお話も沢山聞けました。
メニューを選んで頼むより、おすすめを聞いた方が早いかも🤗

東京からバイクで一人旅。夕食がてら寄らして頂きました。旦那さん、おかみさん共とても良い人柄で楽しい時間を過ごすことが出来ました。地元の常連さんも気さくで本当に楽しかったです。

本格的な町の老舗のお寿司屋さん。昭和レトロな雰囲気が和ませる‼

ネタも大きくすし飯もおいしい
味噌汁もホッとする味

また行きたい

ネタ鮮度、寿司もさることながら、夫婦漫才、親子漫才を味わい深い
