Costco in Japan gets a lot of Japanese local groceries apart from the usual US stuffs. The location in Kawasaki is very convenient if you drive. 25min drive from Shinjuku and the premises locate just beside the main trunk. Groceries and fruits are fresh. We spent the full hour exploring what to take and we had so much fun. What’s more, you can get in the premises to do shopping with your US Costco membership card !!! But we found that joining as executive member in Japan is just 9980 yen, price effectiveness is high.

Costco at Kawasaki is very much accessible by bus, 川10 from platform 14, on East exit of Kawasaki station. Membership is 4800 for gold and recently there is executive membership for 9900, it will give you discount and also good points.
Crowded on weekends.

Travelled all the way from America to visit this Costco (mainly to visit a Costco in every country of operation) very cool food options, food court was yummy, large Lego selection and very helpful employees.

Make sure you have a master card as they only use those unlike USA which requires visa.

From Kawasaki station if you take the bus no. 10 you can get to this Costco. This is huge and have so much to shop with so I recommend you to take your own car. Everything is huge here but in a very affordable price. Those you haven't gone here will definitely like this place but you need a membership card.

As a visitor from the states and a Costco employee I was totally going to check it out and was very impressed with the warehouse and the employees. Costco culture permeated the warehouse and employees, they were friendly and super efficient. The food court had some different food than the States, there was a dole pineapple whip, they still have combo pizza and of course we got a hot dog and drink combo, it's a rite of passage. The merch was mostly the same and also different. The seafood section of the warehouse was excellent with amazing variety and everything looked delicious. It was a bit of a journey to get there on public transportation from our hotel but it was worth it. Note to foreign travelers the entrance is on a side street. If you go past the Costco to the other industrial building thinking there's an entrance that way because cats go in and out.. that's not the entrance. Walk in the other direction to the side street and the entrance is there past the fire department.

Ahahaha there's so many people with families and massive carts! But hey, that's the fun of Costco!

Note: Not recommended for people who get irritated easily with slow-moving crowds. You gotta come here with a chill and peaceful mind or you'll never enjoy the products at Costco. Expect to spend at least 3 hours here to shop slowly, eat samples, eat the famous hot dog and of course, to find parking ehehehe! ‪₍₍ ꒰ঌ( -᷄ ᴗ -᷅ )໒꒱ ₎₎

Wow, a Japan Costco. Other than all the signs being in Japanese and Yen, I could have been back in the US shopping. Only difference was good court had bigger selection of food and unlike US, they would not accept Costco credit card, cash only!

Writing as a reviewer from the US - I love Costco, best customer service, great product quality and prices... and I was thrilled to see they did the same thing in Japan. And what I liked better - I wished they had sushi in their US locations! 80% of the items were identical to the US Costco (like many of the things in my home in the US), and the 20% were localized (mainly food) items such as all kinds of fresh mushroom, heated toilet "washlet" seat, Japanese rice, a great sushi/sashimi selection. Interesting things to note, their Jasmine rice was 5kg (11lbs) for USD18 (as opposed to our US 22.6kg (50lbs) for about $35. Their "Sakura Chicken" also costs considerably more than our twin-pack shrink-wrapped "American sized" chicken. Despite these small negatives, the locals love it (crazy crowds in the weekend), and I loved it! You'd definitely need a car (or need to rent one) if you ever go there.

If you need to feel a little bit of America again, Costco is your place.
You can use your USA membership card, but you can only use Mastercard credit card.

You gotta love Costco, huge selection and the best prices. High quality sushi platters and some of the lowest priced meat in the area.
