Kaminoyama-jo Castle Ruins

Went there during Christmas holidays, snow everywhere, so cold but the castle exhibition is well done with the observation deck on the 4th floor is the highlight.

Very nice place, the feet onsen has a great view to enjoy after walkimg around ✨

One of the few remaining castles left in Tohoku! Every year on February 11th they host the kasedori festival which is super fun!

Beautiful Castle with a wonderful view around. There are parks, small shop, footbaths and play ground around the castle, so even children can enjoy it!

Nice castle to visit, worth the entrance fee for the view alone. Many information boards are in English and more are in German!
The gift shop is quite good, and the staff are lovely. I believe they were installing ramps for wheelchair users.
The grounds are wonderful and there are even some Koi carp to view.

The views from the castle's top floor is fantastic! We are supposed to take the elevator from 1st floor and go to the top floor, then walk down back. It's very well maintained! Almost all information are in Japanese, some exhibits in German too! Don't miss the free foot bath on the garden and the view from there is so good! For taking better photos, evening tone is better, as the light will fall on the city from the back side.

Nice little castle containing historical stories, photos, and artifacts. Mostly in Japanese with some English signage.

Super fantastic castle! The view from the top floor is wonderful, and you can also hear the thouchable music from the first floor. I was really emotional up there. There are many historical items in the museum, and also English instruction. This is the most impressive place I have ever been.

This place is a hidden treasure. Very nice castle beautifully restored and an interesting exhibition inside. Very good that you can go up to the top where you get an excellent view of the surrounding area.

Interesting for historical story.

先月、月岡ホテルに泊まって、近くの上山城の情報を知りました。翌日チェックアウト前に上山城へ写真を撮ります。入場はできませんが。外観から壮観と雪に覆われた美しさを感じる。ここに来て写真を撮ることができて嬉しいです。

当地域の歴史や地理、羽州街道の歴史等、様々な興味深い資料があります。スタッフの方々も親切に解説をしてくださりました。天守閣からは上山の街を一望できます。私の訪問時は、一面の雪景色でした。

温泉街の中にあります。道が狭いので注意が必要です。

お城が資料館になっていて、外にお土産と軽食を頂けるお茶屋があります。

入館料420円、1階で上山の文化と自然を紹介して、4階展望台に移動し、3階・2階(歴史)へと降りて行きます。エレベーターもあります。入り口反対側にロッカーもあります。

温泉巡りの途中で寄れるお城です。

展望台から東南側に「スカイタワー41」が見えます。凄く目立ちます。

2023年8月15日に見学しました。
天文4年1535年、上山義房の子である武衛義忠が、伊達氏から、この地を奪還したといいます。武衛義忠は、ここ天神森に平山城である上山城を築城しました。その後、城主は武衛義節、義節の子の上山満兼と続きました。上山満兼は、天童一門や伊達氏と結んで最上義光の山形を攻めます。しかし、天正8年1580年最上義光は、里見民部を寝返らせて、逆に上山城を攻め落とし、城主であった上山満兼を討ち死にさせました。代わって里見民部が上山城主になります。
元和8年1622年最上騒動により、最上氏は改易されました。その後、上山藩が立藩され、目まぐるしく藩主が交替することになります。歴代城主となった藩主家は、次の通りです。
能見松平家→蒲生家→土岐家2代→金森家→藤井松平家10代
戊辰戦争では、奥羽越列藩同盟に加盟し、秋田の久保田藩に侵攻しましたが、新庄藩の寝返りにより、降伏に追い込まれていきました。
ちなみに上山城は、築城当時から廃城になるまで、天守を持たない城だったということでした。

上山城に行って来ました。近くには上山温泉もありで楽しめそうです。今回は、宿には宿泊は、しませんでしたが、城の所に足湯もあり、武家屋敷にも五分程度で行けます。徳川・松平時代のおじいさんの兄弟ゆかりのお城でした。近くには、月岡神社もあり❗城のなかは、資料館になっております。入園料は、420円。御城印もあります‼おまけにつまようじ入れもいただけました。東北の関ヶ原関係のお城🏯でした‼

蔵王の樹氷がほぼほぼ見えなくて残念だったため、このまま帰るのも惜しいとこちらを訪問。

側は立派なお城ながら内部は郷土資料館、綺麗にまとめられた資料展示とわかりやすい順路、その順路に沿っていくと見れる4階からの上山市街地の眺めはなかなか良い。

遠方に望める蔵王山麓をはじめとした山々が雪をまとった景観も素晴らしい。

すぐそばの月岡神社をはじめ武家屋敷周辺も徒歩圏内で楽しめる。

上山市にお城がありました！
勉強不足で申し訳ありません！
お城の上の方まで登るには、入場料が必要です。
御城印いただけるようです。

敷地内に売店＆喫茶店が併設されお土産や
山形名物の味がしみた「玉こん」も食べれます。足湯もあるので寒い季節は温まれます。
