Beautifully designed museum. One of the best I have been to without being bored and running out. It is quite impressive in terms of design and showcasing. The tools they show that our ancestors used for daily chores and how that has evolved to what we know today made is so relatable. As it was previously a house for one of the oldest families in salt, the stones the house is made of and their cooling effect makes you understand why they didn’t require fans or air conditioning yet makes you wonder how on earth did they stay warm during winter. Definitely worth a visit and no entry fees

This 100 years old, Big, historical, beautiful building was a house for TOWQAN طوقان family. The building itself is a history and deserve to be seen. Located in high land in the old part of SALT overview the old streets and a beautiful well maintained park. I adore the yellow stones of the building wich match with the surrounding old beautiful buildings.

This museum is situated on a main street, the building is a good example of 19th century Ottoman architecture & a delight to explore. Entry is free with the Jordan pass, the staff are friendly & helpful. The two storey museum houses some rare treasures of glass & pottery, comprehensive information boards throughout tell the history of the Jordan Valley. A most enjoyable visit.

A very wonderful museum, despite the small size of the place, but it contains very rare pieces show the depth of history witnessed in the region of the diversity of civilizations with a lot of heritage inherited by generations to remain a witness to the heritage of this place.

The as-Salt Archaeological Museum showcases in an atmospheric Ottoman era heritage building a very attractive selection of artifacts from archaeological sites located in the al-Balqa' district of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

The museum curator and staff are very helpful going the extra mile to make the visit a pleasant affair. The artifacts are very attractive indeed and are presented chronologically from the Stone Age all the way to the Ottoman Period. Among the items displayed, it bears mentioning a 3,500 year old clay tablet from the Jordan Valley written in an indecipherable script.

There are very good informative panels and the showcased items are well labeled. There are two floors (access by stairs only) with a total of 4 galleries.

A visit to as-Salt is not complete without a visit to its archaeological museum. The entry fee is just 2 JOD. It is highly recommended due to its quality, value, friendly staff and central location (walking distance from intercity bus station).
