Oysters, clams and soups, steam fish and festival. That's not all, conch soup conch stew, natural juices, oyster punch, and a lot of other food and drinks stalls all surrounding the super famous Gilly's conch spot, I go here every time the heart desires. Euphoric feeling for me, enjoying oysters and conch soup. Best spot to stop on a weekend. Trust me.

Out there Is a beautiful place. The view, the water it's very relaxing. You can work out there, ride your bikes or just sit and soak up the view.

Harbour View is a residential community, and the first you come to after you leave the airport. It has a thriving shopping area close to the roundabout. It's status is improving due to the new high way that improves travel time/conditions from YALLAS, St Thomas to merge in with Norman Manley Highway to Kingston.

It currently has 2 petrol stations, fast food Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) Pizza Hut, Burger King, Tastee Pattie, some small restaurants dotted throughout for either eat in or take out for local cuisine from breakfast to dinner that cooks, porridge, callaloo, ackee and saltfish, curry goat, curry chicken, stew beef, soups etc. No home delivery service is available. The evening vendors come out near the roundabout to sell similar cuisine as well as jerk pork and chicken chicken. Local foods are cheaper but be prepared to pay similar prices to USA/UK especially for franchise meals. Cash is best but they do accept cards in most places.

There's also a supermarket but they're currently building a brand new and bigger one and the current date for completion is towards the end of 2025. Be prepared as quite a few things are even more expensive than what you would pay in the USA/UK. They also have a hardware (these are what I can remember but will update accordingly)

There's also a number of ATM, but they sometimes don't work.

This is Jamaica and it does NOT carry the high risk it did at one time, especially for those that look like they are 'obviously' tourists. Most locals will look out to ensure they are safe.
But you should still be careful in all areas with ALL your personal effects on person or in vehicles.

So here are some safety tips and additional information that might be useful.

1. Have RFID card blockers. This prevents people from scanning your card details by standing next to you and using your card to make purchases.

2. Always get a receipt for card purchases. It's different from purchase to purchase some use chip and pin, some swipe others you have to sign.

3. Some card issuers charge a percent of the transaction if the currency is different to the home issuing country, meaning the cost is more. Best to use your own home currency if you can on purchases in this instance.

4. All ATM's charge a withdrawal fee and it varies from bank to bank and card to card.

5. Locals don't walk around alone after 7 or 8 at night so try to complete your purchases/movements on foot early.

6. Car hire is nowhere as expensive as it used to be, so don't discount this as a travel option. Prices start from around $30 USD dollars a day, holding deposits compulsory credit cards from around $350 USD, Shop around online for best deals that cover you including CDW etc. Be prepared for lots of potholes especially after days of heavy rain. Petrol is reasonably priced.

Jamaica is a really advanced country for its size and has a great service infrastructure in many of the established areas and communities. Regular garbage/rubbish collection. Electricity, running water, proper sewage system, banking facilities, bureau de change/Cambio etc.

Jamaica is undergoing a change in currency but currently the old and new are still acceptable in all settings.

I'll add if I need to but be safe and ENJOY this beautiful area and island in the sun!

This is a street food experience. Definitely not fine dining. But food quality is still great!! Always a good hang out spot to get oysters, conch, fish, okra stew, jerk chicken. Ask for gilly tho, won't regret it.

The is park is the second park after leaving the International Airport in Palisadoes Kingston. No well lit or used, however it is a green space.

Due to weakness in the economy, there is a vibrant street food activity. Albeit rivaling commercial food and beverages offerings by well established brands.

Very dependable spot/stop to find food especially late evening to night when everywhere else is closed and Gilly's favorite sea food of oyster 🦪 and conch is the best little for sea food lovers... thanks to everyone out there that gives us a hope to find good tasting food late on our way to bed

Nice little chill spot, you can get get cooked meals, jerk chicken, hot dogs and other foods there in the night, the vendors also sell the usual beverages like soda, cran water, water etc I don't know if they sell any beers and such because I've never asked but chances are they do.

Gave this a five star because just a minute from the round about is the palisades, the road leading to the Norman Manley Airport. There's section on the way you can stop, persons often time jog on the bricked pavement whether it's in the mornings or in the evenings but there's usually more people there in the night as it is cool and persons can relax and enjoy the scenery and coolness it brings. There's also a man that sells jelly there and fresh coconut water, taken right from the jelly. In all its one of my favorite little spots but it gives you the space to think and be alone without being all by yourself. So if you need to get away from a people that's the spot, nagging husband, that's the spot.

Not an official place to dine. But if you make this stop, you can choose from a wide range of food, prepared by different chefs.
