Beautiful hotel with large resort grounds, very private. There are multiple pools, a lagoon, and beaches. The beaches are very calm and not true beaches, but they are nonetheless beautiful. The only negative to this hotel is the food. I rented a car which allowed exploring and dining out, which I would recommend. There is a lot of history at this hotel and is probably the best in Jamaica.

Visited Golden eye, old Ian Fleming's place for vacation work in 2011, while passing my small Oracabbesa airport on a guided tour preplanned.
Just walk thru and some pics, place seemed goregous and intact, very rare visitors.

Amazing amenities and activities. We really enjoyed swimming naked off of our back deck.

A very expensive hotel and resort. Also very exclusive or secluded/hidden. When driving there, there is no signage, even at the gate...

Home of Ian Fleming, author of James Bond 007. For 007 fans hoping to be a part of history, this place may disappoint a little in terms of nostalgia. Only the reception and top restaurant have the 007 feeling, although a couple of old books were available in our villa.

As for the location, one of the most beautiful places in the world - the lagoon is spectacular. The beaches are nice, and pools excellent.

Recommend kayaking through this.

We stayed in a beach front villa - excellent on all counts! Private outdoor showers, decor and bedding are all terrific. The turndown service is very good. Everything you would expect in a luxury villa.

Staff are great throughout the property.

Considering the expensive prices, the food is quite average. Breakfast is probably the best meal, although as already mentioned everything is cost++. The curry buffet was quite nice, and cocktails are very good.

The pop up gym above the breakfast restaurant is very poor quality with rusty gear and well only like 4 pieces.

Strangely they market a 007 rum but you can't buy a bottle at the gift shop, or much else for that matter... Suggest at least selling postcards or a few 007 novels...

Overall a very pleasant and memorable stay. Thank you.

Do we have any regrets for visiting? No.

Would we come back? Unlikely. Value for money just isn't there.

Simply an unforgettable vacation in a luxurious, private setting. A pricey experience and, frankly, worth it. Not much more to be said. If you know, you know.

Goldeneye did not disappoint. The location is hidden. A few passes along the road and a stop at the gas station finally put us on track. Maybe that added to the intrigue :-) The property is gorgeous. Perfect mix of jungle, beach and lagoon. We loved the location and seclusion of our hut- Spanish Elm. Having a private kayak was fun. The service was top notch. Every meal we had was great. The entertainment (as well as nod to Bond) struck just the right balance without being too kitschy. The unexpected surprise for us was the snorkeling just offshore. It was some of the best we have experienced. Everybody onsite was lovely- special thanks to Odessia and Marlon.

Words cannot really express. I will try. Service was outstanding, more than you could imagine. The beach hut we stayed in was spotless and a beautiful retreat. A bonus of 2 kittens to keep me company. The bars and restaurants on site were so good; fresh food, healthy options as well as the best flourless chocolate torte in the world! We plan on coming back next year. If you go, you will not be disappointed one single bit!!

This is how high end hotels should be - exactly what you thought it would be (if you can find it). The entrance is secret just like a Bond villain’s hide out.

It is clean, safe, well mapped out and the facilities are fantastic. What stands out for me are two things. One the staff’s attitude - everything is taken care of or it’s a leave it with us can do attitude. The staff are well trained, eloquent, polite but at the same time fun. Some times staff in places like this can be stiff or just not good enough, it’s different here. They don’t burden you with details and excuses. They remember you party by name and all your requests.

The other point is the small things are done very well. The rooms have FRESH fruit, ice, bottled water, TVs and telephones work. There is no dust, rust or broken fixtures. The AC is silent and the showers are powerful.

The decor is old school and part of the charm. Not like these other fancy places that are just all a copy and past of each other.

The drinks and food are fantastic. They seem to invest in local here. Local talent, products, services and food. Of course you can get your burgers and fries but they promote their own first which is needed.

Finally the elephant in the room. It is very expensive. Try to find out all the room sizes and go with the one that suits you. Like most places they have a tendency to offer the most expensive option when there may be a cheaper one.

If I could sum up my experience at this resort in one word, it would definitely be UNFORGETTABLE! It is the most luxurious resort I have ever stayed at so far. We had a villa directly on the lagoon. It was surrounded by tress, the gentle whispers of the waves on the beach nearby and the sweet sounds of the various creatures of nature creates a relaxing atmosphere, especially during the nights. The food and the nightly entertainments was amazing. I would definitely go back to this resort, and would recommend it to anyone who would love to have an experience like no other.

Like a dream, this is an oasis within an oasis. So much to explore in their vast grounds - whether you do it on foot or in the water - I didn't run out of swimming locations all week in the elaborate network of lagoons, coves and beaches. The rooms are the height of comfort and style, but also integrated with nature and each have a secluded feeling. The food is great and the staff are super friendly, what more could you want from a holiday?

Love this place. It is definitely "laid back" luxury vs over the top luxury which personally I love. Love the beach hut. Snorkelling and kayaking fun. Great pools and lagoon and beach. Great staff. Decent food. Close to oracabessa town if you want to go exploring. Organized our covid test for us. Service can be a bit slow / lazy in the island style but I didn't have an issue with this. Only true complaint is that the driver with sign was not there waiting for us at airport when we arrived which caused 10-15 minutes of stress / mayhem at the small airport with everyone trying to help / potentially scam us. Would come back.

Goldeneye is run by a great team who is there to help out with whatever you may need. They are responsive and exceptionally kind and the resort is beyond beautiful and relaxing. While it is off the main hotel strip, you will get a much more quiet, calm and truer Jamaican experience. There are numerous activities on the resort that you don't have to leave the resort to do.

Also noteworthy, during our stay we set up a private dining experience. The front desk helped out with ensuring every detail was taken care of and made it a special evening. The gem of Goldeneye might have to be Chef Alex who prepared our dinner. A self-taught chef, Alex curated a meal that could compete against top Manhattan restaurants and chefs: handmade pasta, innovative desserts, clean and delicious preparation of each plate. We were blown away and impressed by his delivery.

Overall, Goldeneye delivers and will work to make sure you have a great experience at their resort.

This is a special place. The property is meticulously maintained and the service is high quality. I wish we had spent more time at Button Beach than we did. Sunsets at the Shabeen Bar are great. The breeze on this area of the North Coast was wonderful. Our villa was beachfront and well-appointed. We were pleasantly surprised by the accommodations when we arrived. I hope to have the opportunity to return.

My wife and I were desperate for a relaxing vacation, and we received it at the GoldenEye. The staff was fantastic. The property was beautiful. We loved the hut we stayed in with outdoor shower. I snorkeled everyday in clear beautiful waters. This place was an absolute dream. I cannot recommend it enough.

This is the most relaced, secluded, and wonderful place. Service and food are amazing. Mostly you feel like you have the place to yourself and that you are staying at a friend's house. It is absolutely not a resort or hotel. Everyone has their own cottage or villa.

Beautiful place. The villas are very private and separated from one another so you really have peace and quiet while there.

The development also takes special attention into keeping a healthy space between the different areas and buildings and the green spaces. This creates harmony as a whole and the organic interior design that takes advantages of natural resources such as natural ventilation and local handmade furniture makes your stay top notch.

The amenities are marvelous and they have a myriad of activities: from relaxing spa or yoga to more active ones like surf paddle or kayaking. Definitely a place to go to forget about your stressful life and just relax and enjoy the local espectacular food and joyful vibe of Jamaica.

Truly amazing experience from top to bottom. The lagoon cottage is 100% the way to go. The staff are truly the heart and soul of this place. Yulanda at FieldSpa (seriously go, I don’t even do spas usually), Donald at the WataSports, Adrian our driver, Anthony, CeCe, Robert, Romaine, and the rest of the food and beverage staff 🙌🏼. They make it easy to leave your stresses behind and sink into the island rhythm. Laid back luxury at its’ finest.

Golden Eye is, no-question, Jamaica's best resort. The grounds are sprawling and beautiful. I highly recommend getting a private beach Villa if it's in your budget. The rooms, views and service are exceptional. Our stay was greatly enhanced by the friendly staff who truly give the feeling as though they want you to have a wonderful experience. We were checked in by Chantel, who graciously laughed at all of my bad jokes. I had a minor issue before checking in and she quickly addressed my problem and offered me a remedy that went above and beyond. She checked in on us throughout our stay making sure we were fully taken care of. Even our housekeeper, Cathy, was incredibly professional and warm and made us feel right at home and well taken care of. They have lots of food options from jerk and BBQ on the Beach to Jamaican classics like stew peas and rice. They also have fine dining, but as a Jamaican myself I was more excited to have the akie and salt fish than the rack of lamb. The room was stunning and modern, but reflected the relaxed vibe that Golden Eye embodies. It's not cheap, but this place is unique among Jamaican vacation destinations. You truly get what you pay for.

GoldenEye is absolute paradise. We have been twice and plan to return again. We love the place, the people, the accommodations, the food and the groovy vibe. We loved having Laurel as our driver, too. I just wish we were there right now!
