After a ‘tough’ walking tour morning popped in for lunch at La Cantina as recommended by our walking guide. Warm welcome, very attentive and stunning ‘specials’. Top recommend away from the ‘commercial side’ of Alberabello.

One of my favourite meals in Puglia! Around 100 euros for 2 people (including wine) which was far better than some meals where we spent 200+. We ordered 2 Pasta dishes and the veal steak. Everything was perfectly cooked.

We had lunch at this restaurant today and it was amazing. Their dishes are truly delicious. Pasta of the day and spaghetti special that takes about 25 min to prepare is absolutely great. Steak is also amazing. Service is very accommodating and kind. Its not a big restaurant so we had to wait a bit but it was worth it. Its in the heart of Alberobello..

We loved our meal here . The waitress Laura was fabulous and explained everything. The chef Francisco was so friendly and helpful also . The food was absolutely delicious and we all loved our meals . The restaurant was in a great location and we loved how the kitchen was the focus like you were eating at home . We loved our experience here .

Highest quality food ingredients, attention to detail, and love in preparation of each and every plate which Francesco shows you with his open kitchen. The sign of a confident Chef. I have been coming here for many years and I always leave with a smile on my face.

Wow wow wow. Quite possibly the best Italian restaurant I’ve ever been to. Not only is the meal spectacular watching the chef prepare everything makes the experience that much better. If you can get in here, book a reservation, you won’t be sorry.

Stunningly fresh and flavoursome pasta, a tiramisu that civilisations should war over, and attentive, friendly service. Wanted to go back the next night but for the sake of variety (read: masochism) we went somewhere else. Apparently the head chef there (who was cooking in the open kitchen for all to view, and cruised around to chat with everyone) has been running the place since 1990, so he is certainly doing something right

Lovely small restaurant with great local home. You can see the chef and sous chef dedication at work. All the wait staff are friendly and they help the chef to serve the delicious food fresh from the kitchen to the customers. Lovely home cooked feel. The restaurant is small with limited seatings. So best to call ahead to book.

Really really good! Chef Francesco is really good as everything is fresh daily in an open kitchen - nothing to hide :) absolutely recommend it in beautiful Alberobello!

I was looking for a non touristic restaurant and this came up. Excellent food and service, they even gave us a taster of other types of pasta while we waited for our food because it was going to be a couple of minutes late (it was literally 2 extra minutes). The venue is also very nice and the price is very reasonable with the respect to the quality and size of the portions. Recommended! Anche se sei italianə!

Initially we all picked our choices from the menu but then we heard the specials…

Pasta with pesto, aubergine, yellow tomato, red tomato and burrata. We all instantly changed our minds.

It was sensational.. we all sat in silence to eat because it was that good. Absolutely delicious! Thoroughly recommend choosing that if it’s available.

I would also see if you could book a table because inside was already fully booked when we got there and only a handful of tables outside which we were lucky enough to get.

Exquisite italian restaurant. We ordered pasta and plate of cheeses and slices of meat. Every dish was of impeccable quality (fresh and delicious). Atmosphere is very cozy. Air smells of homemade food. Prices are not high. I definitely recommend.

We stumbled upon La Cantina on our last night in Alberobello, and it turned out to be one of the most memorable dining experiences of our trip! Although we didn't have a reservation, the chef generously made room for us, and we're so grateful they did.

The open kitchen setup allowed us to watch the chef work their magic, crafting some of the most incredible dishes we've had in Puglia. The staff were incredibly kind, friendly, and attentive, making our meal even more special.

Extremely delicious food and even better service! All dishes were extremely fresh and tasty, the antipasti selection dish with a variety of delicious cold and warm dishes from the region was the perfect sampler of the region’s cuisine. The staff was kind and welcoming and made sure all our needs were addressed.

The first restaurant we ever ate at in Alberobello 18 odd years ago. Open kitchen where you can watch Francesco and his team prepare your meal. Always great food and friendly service. A small cosy restaurant so well worth booking in advance to avoid disappointment.

Honestly I would recommend this restaurant over and over. It was an experience that we will remember. The food & the wine was amazing and the fact that you get to see the chef cooking everything wow!!

I ment to write this review almost 6 months ago, but I forgot. However, every time I’ve eaten pasta since I’ve visited this restaurant, it have been weak and just not right. La Cantina has set the standard of what a perfect pasta is and then some.
When my girlfriend and I visited this place around July 2022, we didn’t really know what to order so the chef made us a small tasting menu of three different pasta dishes. All of them the absolute best of their own genres.
If you go to Alberobello, as a tourist, you’ll come for the funny looking huts and houses, but you’ll definitely stay and remember the place because of La Cantina and its culinary perfection. When Jesus comes back before the rapture, this is where he will eat. No doubt.

La Cantina, a charming traditional restaurant in Alberobello, offers an authentic lunch experience with a focus on traditional flavors. We had the pleasure of savoring their remarkable spaghetti alio e olio e peperoncino—a simple yet beautiful dish that left a lasting impression.

La Cantina's Alio e Oglio is a true testament to the beauty of Italian cuisine. The al dente spaghetti is skillfully tossed in a luscious sauce made with garlic, olive oil, and a touch of red pepper flakes. The flavors are harmonious, with the richness of the olive oil complementing the subtle heat from the pepper flakes. You can order extra chili oil, which adds a perfect spicy kick (extra spicy!).

Prepared to perfection, this naturally vegan dish takes approximately 25 minutes to prepare wait is well worth it while you enjoy a glass of their very good white wine.

Although our initial phone interaction with the staff lacked friendliness, they proved to be welcoming and accommodating during our visit.

La Cantina's ambiance is cozy and inviting, with a rustic charm that enhances the experience. Upon entering, you descend a few steps, so it’s not barrier free (as most of Alberobello). They do have a small outdoor area though.

Despite the minor hiccup in the initial interaction, the accommodating staff made up for it during our stay. If you seek authentic flavors and appreciate the simplicity of Italian cuisine, La Cantina is a must-visit. A prior reservation is recommended.
