The hotel came as a pleasant surprise, the staff especially Vincenzo and Stefania, the receptionists went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Antonella, was a walking encyclopaedia recommending and planning our day. The room was very comfortable and my recommendation would be Room 5. Garage easy to find and easy access even for our motorbike. Will return !!

Ideally located in this architecturally interesting town. The hotel was well appointed and smart and efficiently run. We were a part of a large group, but our dining experience felt personal. The hotel has a small bar, however a short walk into the town centre will give you a greater range of bars/restaurants to choose from.

We have spent several days at the end of July '22 in the beautiful hotel Maugeri which is situated in the picturesque city of Acireale approx. 30 minutes of car drive from the Catania airport. The hotel is situated almost in the very center of the city, in the small cozy square and in 5 minutes of lazy walk from the central square and central streets.
The reception stuff was very friendly and helpful. They gave us the map with the remarkable sightseeing places and useful information. Don't miss the local ice-cream shop in the street to the Cathedral, it's gorgeous. :) The hotel parking is situated under the hotel, you have to drive around the hotel until you see the green gates. The reception opens the gates on the call. There always was a plenty of parking space. It could have been a problem to park in the streets though, especially in the night hours when the whole district changes from the driving to the pedestrian one with the restaurants putting their tables outside, directly in the street. The only confusing moment with the parking happened on the last day of our stay when some gentleman from the hotel management (or the shift leader maybe) didn't want to let us park in, telling that the parking was full, though I clearly saw from the gates that there was plenty of parking space and I could have parked with a truck there. Luckily after several minutes of waiting they let us park inside.
The spacious rooms of the hotel should be mentioned. We were 2 adults + 13 years old kid and the room was one of biggest we ever had in the hotel. The room cleaning and towel change were made every day. The air conditioning worked good, though it was very hot outside we had a nice temperature inside, the air conditioning was individual for each room. Also we much appreciated the good sound isolation. We have never heard a sound neither from the square outside the hotel nor from our neighbors.
A separate mentioning deserves the restaurant stuff and the chef. Our big gratitude belongs to them. We had a half-board and the meal always was so good and tasty and beautifully arranged. The waiters were very helpful and friendly and the service was always perfect. The local wines served were the best.

Just to add, there is no much opportunity to swim in the sea in the city as it is situated on the hill. But there is a small lava stone beach just a few kilometers beneath it. There are the smaller lava stones on the beach and huge slippery stones in the water, so the water shoes are necessary. The water is very clean though.
There are several nice sand beaches within the 30 minutes car drive to the north from the hotel or south from Catania.

Good hotel in tbe centre of beautiful Acireale. Nice and clean room, roomy bathroom, well-tuned air conditioning, parking. Breakfast not in the top league. Staff really kind and efficient, definitely a plus!
