Best viewpoint in Palermo, I was told, and I can see why! We didn't go inside the church, we were just there to climb to the top of the Cupola. The journey up there was a hair-raising experience. There's a delightful exterior room with grand furniture about half way up which is a nice peaceful place to relax, in the shade, away from the crowds below.

I can highly recommend going to the dome! It looks like the best viewpoint in the city with 360*

This church is beautiful inside but the real beauty and surprise lies if you walk down the side of the church and pay the 2.50 euros to take a walk to the summit of the dome. Stunning views of Palermo for what is a very small price. Be aware though you do need to go up a free standing set of metal see through spiral staircases so not for the people with vertigo. But once you get to the top there are stunning 360 degree views of Palermo so make the effort if you can.

Now the church is an auditorium, and although having fallen into disgrace and decline after Italy was united (as several other places across southern Italy), it still keep a strong pure beauty.
Don't miss it.

Je n'ai pas visité l'intérieur de l'église, mais je suis montée à la coupole et j'ai trouvé que les vues sur Palerme y étaient absolument magnifiques. Il est possible de faire tout le tour de la coupole, pour une vue à 360°. C'est pour moi le plus bel endroit pour profiter de belles vues sur la ville. Il y a beaucoup moins de monde qu'à la cathédrale et l'entrée est moins chère.

Preciosa y curiosa iglesia digna de ver por su belleza y poco habitual planta elíptica. Muy interesante muestra de arquitectura y decoración barrocas. Subir además a la cúpula cuesta solo cuatro euros y comparado con otros lugares más caros y menos atractivos, merece la pena porque ofrece unas vistas muy bonitas de la ciudad y los montes aledaños. Ha constituido una muy agradable sorpresa para nosotros.

Luogo stupendo nel centro storico di Palermo. È una Chiesa barocca con decorazioni meravigliose. Là dentro vi è una incredibile sensazione di spaziosità, vi si svolgono funzioni religiose e concerti di Musica Classica

Curiosa iglesia barroca con forma elíptica, que más parece un teatro que una iglesia. Tiene una grtan cúpula elíptica cuyo interior está pintado al fresco. Tiene algunos cuadros colgados, pero la principal decoración son estucos en las paredes
