La Piola

One of my favourite meals while travelling in Italy this past September was at La Piola. We were seated on the terrace at our request and had a beautiful view of the plaza. I ordered the Misto di Antipasti (tasting of appetizers, including veal and tuna) at the recommendation of a local shop owner and the homemade tajarin with black truffles. What a treat to have truffle shaved onto the pasta right at our table! The service was prompt and attentive, with our server often coming over to pour more wine. Overall, it was a highly enjoyable fine dining experience focused on regional cuisine. Note: I believe there were two seatings for dinner and reservations were required.

Great pasta, super quick service, and fantastic wine selection so can’t go wrong! We shared 3 dishes but the veal was our favorite. Desserts were fantastic too. Solid location as well

Amazing food and great wine! Run by the vineyard Ceretto, and has a Michelin star restaurant upstairs if you want to splurge.

Absolutely delicious and great service! Had a table for two in the corner of the glass atrium (air conditioned). Lovely location in the square. I'd recommend booking in advance. For dress code a nice dress/shirt & pants are appropriate. Food was well priced. Starters are around €12-15, mains €18-20 and dessert €5-7. Local wine which was recommended to us by the waiter was €22. Really recommend eating here!!!! Not to be missed if staying in Alba.

Great home made pasta, good wine selection even by glass. Suggest antipasto misto di Langha, agnolotti del plin al sugo d’arrosto - most tasty- very local.
Do not miss the desert gianduiotto alle nocciole con salsa al lamponi e biscotti di nocciole - most delicious one!

Excellent Restaurant. All our dishes were cooked perfectly and with freshest ingredients. We enjoyed the Tajarin Pasta with Truffle and the Tagliata most.

Amazing place for great quality fresh food, amazing selection of local wine and friendly staff. The outside terrace space is great as well, covered so won't be an issue if it rains too!

Perfect place for a dinner with great food and wines. Lot of local dishes, traditional Albese cuisine. Just finished and cannot wait to be back again. Helpful staff and lovely atmosphere.

Great pasta. The pumpkin agnolloti were excellent. White truffle tarjin also great and good value (for truffle) at 40 EUR

The bistro is run by the same chef for the 3 Michelin star Piazza Duomo next door. We'd eaten at Piazza Duomo, so it was interesting to have lunch at the bistro. The food is a lot more of a conventional lunch than the tidal wave of creativity and dishes next door, but all very exactingly prepared and wonderful. We had the appetizer plate, which included a half-dozen well-prepared items, I especially liked the roasted pumpkin with a bright apricot sauce that reminded me a bit of a similar dish at the other restaurant. I had the angliotti and my wife had the gnocci. Both were exquisitely prepared and delicious. Our bill for lunch -- without wine -- was just under 60 euros and entirely worth it. They have both indoor seating and a sheltered outdoor area in the plaza of the Cathedral. Definitely worth a try, especially if you can't afford Piazza Duomo.

Perfect lunch experience. Warm, welcoming staff, great introduction to the best of the regional cuisine. Highly recommended!

Located within the Castle of Castello di Grinzane Cavour this is a one star Michelin Restaurant. In typical upmarket Italian style the decor of the restaurant is clean and white, maintaining a formal smartness whilst sympathetic to the Castle. It's definitely a hidden gem that could be the ultimate suprise treat for anyone.

Absolutely my favourite restaurant in Langhe ! I’ve been here for the 4th time ! Traditional food perfectly prepared with the best local ingredients ! Very good wine list and amazing local cheeses! Absolutely to do it without moderation!

We enjoyed the evening on the terrace on the beautiful Piazza del Duomo.
Service was professional, a well-oiled machine as you would expect from the #2 restaurant of a 3-star.
Regional dishes well prepared and nicely presented.
Good advice on wines made it easy to choose from extensive list.
