Tavernetta Cinquantotto

We arrived in Meta,and after a full day of journeying we’re looking for someplace nearby for dinner. Found Tavernetta Cinquantotto on a Google map search and decided we would try it. The atmosphere was 5 out of 5 stars but the Food and Service were 6/5 stars. Christian our server was an excellent host, patiently translating the menu for us since there isn’t an English version of the menu (yet). The food was beautifully presented, hot, perfectly cooked and simply delicious!! We are only in the area for 4 nights but we are already planning to go back. Since it wasn’t a busy evening, at the end Christian introduced us to the Chef which was a special treat. Hopefully, news of this restaurant will make its way back to the folks at Michelin. This is a real Gem of a Restaurant.

If you’re in Meta you should definitely eat there. The restaurant is so beautiful, the staff are so kind and explain everything. The food was so good and delicious, also the drinks. Recommended!

My colleague and I made a reservation here on a Saturday night and it was one of the best meals I've ever had in Italy, and I've had many (I come every summer for a month). The atmosphere is magical with the inner courtyard and banana trees and garden. The service was impeccable...respectful, helpful, and with a sense of appreciation of the customer that makes you feel very at home. Chef Ruben took the time to introduce himself and offer a (gratis) amuse bouche, which was raw shrimp with cheese with soy sauce (how does this go together?...incredibly!). From that point on, we were in the hands of the waiters and Ruben. My colleague got the "Jackson Pollock" melanzane and and pasta nerano (with zucchini from the garden) and I got the marvelous polpo "luciano" followed by the best spaghetti vongole I've ever had (Ruben adds a subtle amount of reduced broccoli which transforms it into a whole other level, another "secret" preparation that must be tried). We put ourselves in the hands of our waiter for our vino bianco (a local Falanghina) which complemented everything very nicely. The evening was made complete when it unexpectedly rained and we all worked together to move under their covered porch, a gleeful way to further embrace the staff and our fellow diners! We will be back every year, henceforth. This is my new favorite restaurant in all of Italy (seriously)!!

An absolute hidden gem, offering exceptional cuisine, impeccable service, and set in a beautiful dining location. The experience was truly remarkable, and I can't recommend it highly enough. The food was not only delicious but also creatively presented, leaving our taste buds delighted and the ambiance of the place added a touch of magic to the evening. If you're looking for a top-notch dining experience, this place is a must-visit.

Great for vegeterians too. Eveything we ate tasted amazing, rich and suprising, especially the souflle with the celery pesto and the tortellini. The atmosphere is relaxed. Better to come early or reserve a place in the lovely garden.
You might have to wait a while for the dishes but having a look at the perfectionism and detailed design they made with you'll be probably understanding.
This place is run by a young couple and I wish them good luck and success.

One of the best pasta I’ve eaten. The restaurant has a very nice garden outside, which made my meal a very relaxed one. The chef gifted me a wonderful appetizer. I had an amazing time.

Top ten restaurant I've ever been too. Great presentation, texture and taste to the food. Service was great; the chef came to check on us after the meal and the waiters were knowledgeable. It doesn't look like much from the front but there's a nice outdoor area out back and plenty of room inside. We had the 'Grand selection' tasting for 55€ each.

We certainly were not expecting much from a tavernetta in a small town, but boy were we up for a pleasant surprise!!!
Amazing food, from breadsticks to dessert, cozy backyard, friendly staff fluent in English, all at a very decent price.

Spectacular setting in the garden. Excellent food. Attentive staff. Creative chef. All the things you want for a wonderful evening.

Absolutely exceptional. One of the best meals we had in Italy. The back of the restaurant is like a storybook garden where they grow fresh vegetables that makes up their menu. Great veg options - we loved it so much that we came back the next day and had lunch there. The chef is creative and they give complimentary tasting places which were divine. Really wish I could fly right back to Meta just to eat here!

Local Italian who lives in Meta adviced us this place and we enjoyed it very much. Hight quality of food, cooked interesting way on the beatiful plates.
We ordered fish and beef for main course. As a starter we had meat and cheese plate.
Service is perfect too.

Very nice italien food. The restaurant is very nice, notice the raw shrimp. One need to provide first rate material for this kind of serving. Also the double peroni is 6.6 degreeof alcohol, easily get drunk.

Delicious and original dishes prepared with local ingredients. Beautiful presentation. Quiet and relaxing environment. A great way to conclude our holidays in Italy. Definitely recommended. Definitely the best in Meta.

One of the best, if not THE best non-michelin star restaurants I've ever had the opportunity of dining at. In fact there are some star restaurants (around the world) that this restaurant puts to shame. If you are in Sorrento and don't eat here, you are missing out. Michelin, come visit this restaurant now!

This restaurant is a hidden gem! We loved our experience at Tavernetta Cinquantotto. As soon as we arrived, the chef introduced himself to us and welcomed us. We really appreciated this kind attention. We loved the wait staff, who were welcoming, friendly and professional throughout our evening. We had the chance to dine in the garden, set in a lovely courtyard. The atmosphere was friendly and relaxed. We had by far the best meal of our stay in Italy! Thank you for the memories of this wonderful evening!

This restaurant is an absolute gem. The location is fantastic and the atmosphere breath taking as the owners adapted the restaurant to the historic surroundings. Every details were intentional. The service meal was outstanding as the chef introduced the different dishes to the table. I highly recommend this restaurant for a family meal or romantic outing. The chef was very friendly and interactive, the waiters were very accommodating and the food was unique and fantastic.
