An incredible morning spent on top of the world, well, Lake Garda, at least!
We left quite early, enabling us to be at Cable Car to take us up there with no queueing and plenty of time to enjoy the trails on Monte Baldo. The 27 euros each was money well spent. After a spot of hiking, an ice cold beer and a cappuccino was well received at the bar. On leaving around noon we noted the crowds queueing to go up was very high. I'd suggest getting there early to avoid the crowds.
All in all, a fantastic experience, and look forward to repeating it again next year.

Make sure you buy tickets online.

Dont go too late into the day.

Bring warm clothes.

Plan enough time to be up there - It is very nice so you may want to stay longer.

The line for going down the mountain can be long.

Awesome view not only over Lago di Garda but also over the villages, valleys and hills in the hinterland. I took the cable car from Malcesine, which is unfortunately expensive (paid 23 Euro for return ticket) but worth it. If you don't mind to camp in the mountains a 2 days trip from the hinterland towards Lago di Gardo via Monte Baldo would definitely be amazing!

Climbing the mountain from the bottom to the top was extremely challenging but the view afterwards definitely made up for it! Awesome view on the lake and really enjoyable nature all around.

And a great panoramic cablecar right to the top. Waiting 1h and 30min to enter it, but they are well organised and the view on the top is amazing!

Breathtaking views of lake Garda. You can make a trip around the surrounding peaks or just sip your drink while watching the scenery.

If you want to get here by cable-car its pretty expensive. But you can just walk up in approximately 4hours. Up the mountain you have a lot of walking possibilities and a very nice view over Lake Garda. Bring you camera 😏

Must visit stop when in the area. We drove to monte baldo with our rental car to about 1.5k km height and then climbed the rest way up by foot thus saving a few euro for the cable car. This makes you appreciate the view you see while getting up there. Bring some water with you and a jacket if it's cloudy because it gets cold up on top.

Very nice place to see the Garda lake from above. But.... It's better to go up from the other side of the mountain at alpasina chairlift 2.. no waiting time at all and much cheaper to go up. Roundtrip for 7 euro's comparing to 22! from malsecine. And the end result with the view is the same.

I strongly recommend hiking up from the cable car base rather than taking the cable car. It's a moderately strenuous 4 hour hike. You can get a free map at the information point near the cable car station which will help you take the right path up.

As always with these things, bring at least 2L of water and start early (I'd suggest earlier than noon). This gives you time to get to the top, reward yourself with some great pasta, and stroll around for the views.

Please please make sure you don't miss this if you're anywhere nearby. We took 26 number bus from desenzano to peschiera and then took 483 number bus from peschiera to malcesina and the total journey costs 13€ and the buses run every hour although they seem to delay most of the time.

We were short in time so didn't get to do the hike but just the cable car ride up there is worth it. The cable car costs 22€ return which is a bit pricey but still worth it.

There are small restaurant and a farm where you can buy fresh cheese and small snacks or you can just walk to a grassy area and have your home packed lunch with a makestic view in front you.

Please beware that the last cable car leaves from up there at 18:45

If you visit Lake Garda don't miss the opportunity to get to the top of this mountain, the views while getting up using the cable car are amazing and once on the top, we were really lucky and we had perfect weather for pictures, you won't regret it. Please have a look at the pictures and decide for yourself. Please avoid high season to avoid cueing for hours, we visited in Christmas and it took us no time. Highly recommended.

Monte Baldo is stunning. Anyone travelling or planning to go to Garda or verona, you must stop here. Breathtaking views, gorgeous walks and generous gelato.
Family of five climbed up and took cable car back down. Very doable, bring water.

The lift to the top is divided in 2 pieces. Where the upper gondola's rotate around it's axis to give the travellers a 'golden' view of the Mountains and offcourse the Garda Lake. The price is more or less oké, but could be a little cheaper. Keep in mind that you check the weather in advance. If it's cloudy and windy it will be cold at the summit, so dress appropiatly.

Close your eyes and just imagine: complete silence as the sun rises with a blaze of colour whilst, way down below, Lake Garda emerges in all its glory. What a view ! Malcesine will delight you with a dazzling array of footpaths for mountain walks of all levels of difficulty, from easy strolls to strenuous hikes. Malcesine is a little town which offers a whole host of opportunities to enjoy,outdoor activities, bike rental, sailing clubs, restaurants and bistros or culture in the castles and museums. Although the journey was tough, we eventually reached the mountaintop, and the distant mountains and rivers were incredibly magnificent, giving us a sense of returning to nature.

The air on the mountain was incredibly fresh, and during the lazy afternoon, we could see cows and foals in a leisurely manner. Despite the lack of safety guarantees and the unreasonable fees for the cable car, we ultimately chose to take the cable car down.

Visited on a vacation and the hike is truly amazing. Be careful, sun burns a lot up there but it's all worth it. The view is one of a kind, you can really breathe in and out and enjoy the nature.

Such a beautiful view!! Prepare for some waiting time for the cable cat. But the reward is a stunning view on the lake and its surroundings. On the top there is a restaurant and also toilets 😋. The Monte Baldo is also a good starting place for trails.
