Vínlandssetur - The Leif Eiriksson center

Ordered two lattes and a muffin. The lattes tasted great, but the texture was not silky enough to be a perfect latte (lacking microfoaming and had some larger bubbles). But the espresso in it was very nice. Giving it a five because it is the best coffee in the area (have to drive an hour or more to find anything better).

The blueberry muffin was sweeter on top and less so inside which I enjoyed a lot.

This is an excellent museum for those who want to learn more about the early history and development of Iceland. As well as that, it tells the fascinating story of Leif Eiriksson and the other Icelanders who began the colonisation of America long before Columbus. There's a well-paced audio guide to accompany the artefacts and interactive displays - it's not too long or too short! The location is lovely and the welcome is warm! If you're lucky, the locals may be enjoying a coffee in the cafe and singing a song! Well worth an hour of your time as you explore West Iceland.

Good lamb soup yummy yummy, if you visit this small harbor town, must try the soup. Honest recommendation.

Fantastic place, exhibition is well presented and the narrative is well told. Display ate simple but effective and the educational value is great. Coffee was good and service was friendly and helpful. Fully recommend

A must experience for all fellow LeifHeads! Seriously, a very well done, 45 minute audio tour of the biography of Leif Erikson and the history of the Icelandic Sagas. So grateful that we stopped here on our way to the fjords!

Great exhibition with really beautiful wooden sculptures. We learned a lot of interesting facts combined with Eiríksstaðir (Eirík the red's house a few kilometers away from the museum). We would definitely recommand it 100% to those who come in this area wanting to learn a thing or two about the vikings times. Big bonus there's also a café inside if you want to enjoy the atmosphere a little longer

Great cakes, soup, and a proper coffee machine -- best coffee I have had in Iceland. Super friendly and informative Italian staff (in 2022, anyway :-))
Nice museum about Leif Eiriksson.

Very very interesting small museum about a part of the world history that usually nobody teaches us in this way! A completely different point if view on the discovery of America , something that we all should know about! The audio-guide in english is very entertaining and lead you step by step in the heart of the great adventure of the explorations of the Vikings along the coasts of the american continent much before Cristoforo Colombo!

Wonderful stop on the way to West Fjords. Excellent lamb soup and tasty cupcakes, all freshly made on the premises.

Helaas was de exhibitie al gesloten voor het seizoen, maar we werden gastvrij ontvangen bij de coffee bar. De swiss mocha was erg lekker.
