Urdartindur Guesthouse And Cottages

Camped here for 2 nights in July. Very nice common area for cooking, washing dishes and sitting. The manager was great. She keeps dishes, pots, pans etc. there for people to use and in the morning I saw her take away the dish towels that people had used so she could wash them. It was mostly trailers/caravans and camper vans when we were there, so we and the other few tenters had lots of space.

Clean inside bathrooms. No showers. Sink to clean dishes. And full kitchen inside past the bathroom. All below the guest apartments. Outside bathrooms were clean just lacked power, so keep the outer door open ;)

Quiet evening aside from the beautiful sheep!

Great camping, no showers though. But, within few kilometers distance, you can find Krossnos pool with hot showers and amazing geothermal water on the pool. The camping is located right on the seaside, so you can camp having the most amazing view to the ocean. While falling asleep, you can hear its sound. The camping is very well equipped. Kitchen in the guesthouse building with 2 gas stoves and all kitchen utensils needed. Many tables with chairs so you can easily cook, eat and rest there. Its warm and cosy inside. Two toilets inside the building as well. The owner is fantastic, very nice and helpful. Besides the weather, it is one of the great camping experiences in Iceland!

This place felt so authentic. The owner was born here and now lives in Reykjavík but in the summer works at improving this place and you will see him always doing something. He built this place with its own hand! Place is cozy and warm and very nicely decorated!

Real hearted person.

Great location and closest campsite to the krossneslaug pool. You can hear the waves on the beach from the campsite which is neat. Two bathroom stalls and a sink under the guesthouse are clean and well maintained. Only confusing thing is checking in late. We arrived around 10pm and the posted signs did not have any instructions. I emailed the guesthouse and eventually left them some money in a closet.

We stayed 3 days in one of two lovely cottages, ideal for 2 people, quite tight for 4. This was the only accommodation in Iceland during two weeks which provided really good value for money.
Nordurfjördur is a remote, still quite lonely place. It opens access to the end of the world which can be reached by car. Just another 20 km on a very rough bumpy road + one ford through a small river. A real adventure + breathtaking landscape.

Great warden with a vast experience and knowledge of lokal hiking routes. Basic room amenities, bring your own sleeping bags and sheets. But clean and friendly. You can borrow kitchen items and use their stove. Mattresses were fairly thin, second night I slept on top of my sleeping bag.

Location in a top environment. No showers for the campers. Need to drive to the swimming pool. The road to get there is really panoramic through gravel roads.

We stay a night on the campsite, the owner is very kind. The Service is great. You feel welcome.

A great guesthouse very nice and clean the location is amazing, very remote but worth the drive, unfortunately the hot bath was close during my stay but still hade a great time

We did stay tree nigts in the sommerhouse of Urdartindur. The house was very good. This area of Iceland is exellent, the wild nature of Iceland.
