Kvíárjökull Bílastæði

Easy to miss but one of the best spots in the area. We had the place to ourselves on a busy tourist day.

It’s a 20 minute walk from the car park, but a lovely view of the glacier tumbling down to the lake at a relatively quiet location. You can’t get as close to the glacier as the other stopping places but you get a lovely view across the small lake

This is a true gem of Iceland. One of our favorite walks. Walking along the glacier tailings was awesome. You could hear the sounds of the glacier moaning. You can watch it calving and if you are lucky see an iceberg flip over in front of your eyes. Truly a magical place.

Easy to pass by and think nothing of it. But if you park in the lot and walk about 5 mins inland, there's a great view of a glacier. You might need to cross a stream or two - so be prepared for that!

You tend to miss this turn in from the road but it's worth a stop over if you want to walk to the glacier. More picturesque than the ones at the skatafell national park.

Best parking spot ever

To miejsce które pewnie miniesz, ale za nim to zrobisz pomysł czy nie warto poświęcić 5 minut na podejście z parkingu do widoku na jęzor lodowca

Un parking pour pique-niquer mais pas uniquement...une marche de 30 minutes voir plus par un chemin très bien balisé qui vous amène à un super glacier le Kvíárjökull et vous pouvez vous approcher du front du glacier.Le top et il y a très peu de monde (et oui il faut un peu marcher et le parking est relativement petit...donc pas de groupe)

Könnyű séta a parkolóból, s máris a gleccser morénahalomjánál járunk. Kár lenne kihagyni, gyönyörű látványt nyújt.

Parking gratuito, cuando fuimos nosotros poco concurrido. Después de un pequeño paseo llegas a un paisaje espectacular, de los mejores de Islandia.

C'est beau surtout par beau temps. Trop de touristes le week-end :)

Mooie parkeerplaats met prachtig uitzicht zoals bijna alle parkeerplaatsen op IJsland.

Paseo de 5 minutos, no hay nadie y se tienen unas vistas espectaculares del glaciar.
