A very simple, but beautiful camping area. Loved the rustiness of this space as well as the hot tubs. They were definitely worth the extra 1500 isk. It was very calm as there is only the access road we’re cars were running. The host was a very nice older gentleman that made me feel very welcome from the beginning. The kitchen had a standard stove (no induction). The bathroom was clean and brand new. I really enjoy my stay here.

Lovely campsite! Great and clean facilities and a nice ward. It's possible to cook and eat inside. There's also a cosy café and a very nice thermal Bath. We paid 3000 ISK per person for camping + bathing (and a great warm shower) if you are just passing by you can use the baths for ISK 2000 per person.

This place was one of my favourites! The owner is very nice and funny. There’s a little cafe thats open until 12am, he also sells alcoholic drinks :) The bathrooms are newly renovated so it’s super clean! There’s 2 naturally heated pools (cost a bit extra) The kitchen and showers are included. Kitchen is very spacious and clean there’s a nice stove top. The shower can use improvement but overall I would definitely recommend staying at this camp site!!

After a 10 day trip to Iceland this is by far the best campsite we’ve ever been. The relaxed atmosphere is unmatched and the friendly service is incredible.
The natural pool is something we’re definitely going to visit again!
Only thing to be aware is that it’s open only in the summer period, and it’s closed after mid-October.

Enjoyed two nights here. Ingi, the host is so welcoming. Enjoyed the beautiful scenery and a hike in the mountain. The horses are very friendly! The driftwood black sand beach has a hand maid swing. Beautiful sunsets. Has kitchen facilities for campers and hot pools. You may even see the white fox roaming around in the evenings.

Simple but perfect, nothing else to say. I would always recommend this place. Owner is very nice and helpful. All facilities were warm and clean. Weather was perfect Islandic… Strong wind from NW with little snow, -7C. Hot pots did their job and worked perfect, 38C 👍👍👍

This campsite was our favorite around the ring road this week! Campground host was so nice! The hot springs on site were perfect. Loved meeting other travelers and swapping stories. Campground was quiet and dark with amazing views!

Wonderful place, so quiet. Directly on the water. A very nice man runs it, and it has an incredible hot pool. It costs some money for adults to be in it, but it is well worth it. There is a black quartz sand beach within walking distance, and the view out to the island and the rock formations is just gorgeous when the weather is not foggy. Mountains loom behind you and a beautiful display. The road to get there is a little bit rough in a couple places, but other than that it is an okay drive. You get to go past a lot of Icelandic horses looking curiously at you right next to the road. It has showers and a toilet, and a well maintained campsite overall. It also has a more traditional Viking sod roof houses, adding a lot of Icelandic feel to the environment. There are beers and wines for the adults, and hot cocoa for the kiddos. There are only some donuts and sweets for sale as of right now, but the whole place is built with so much love and a welcoming attitude that it's hard not to feel right at home there. I hardly recommend this as a choice for a campsite, the glorious surroundings and the wonderful silence is worth it!

I drove all around Iceland - almost 3400 km and it was the best campsite ever.
this is a place with a soul, and the owner is a sociable soul . I recommend to everyone. I'll be back someday.

Special place off the beaten path. Clean bathrooms. Decent changing facilities and showers for the thermal pools. The larger one is newer and hotter (39.5). The smaller one is the original and slightly cooler (38.5). Would recommend for quiet camping or just to visit.

WOW! By far the best place we camped at along the Ring Road. Huge campgrounds right along the water, hot spring on the property, heated bathrooms, and the gentleman who owns it is just the nicest human. Incredible experience.

Superb! The natural hot spots were amazing, with soft water, not the mineral filled like at Blue Lagoon or Myvatn. You can wear jewelry. The view is gorgeous also.

The caretaker couldn't have been more gracious, and he has a great sense of humor and a hard worker keeping the place beautiful (see pic). The warm office is occupied 7am to midnight with tables, couches, plenty of outlets for charging, sweets, cream of asparagus soup one of the days I was there, beer, and wine. The kitchen was very warm also with a pot for my coffee.

The road was being maintained when I drove in this week and their were just a few potholes to worry about. 4x4 unnecessary.

Even if it is a detour DEFINITELY go to this campground. The man who runs it is the most amazing human you’ll ever meet. He makes a mean soup, try it! The campsite is clean and located in a perfectly secluded, charming and picturesque spot. The natural hot springs are great to soak in and are included with your camping fee. The cozy living area is perfect to lounge in and have a beer or wine. We made some amazing friends at this campsite. If I ever make it back to Iceland I’ll definitely visit this place again. Camping fee in July 2022 was 3000 ISK per person including multiple visits to the hot pools.

One of the best camping experiences in Iceland that we had. Every other option en route didn't even have showers(!) this place has 2 hot springs warm shanging room and showers. If you camp the springs are cheaper and you may use them multiple times.
There were only 3 other cars staying overnight with us. We parked so that we could hear the sea and view the sunrise.
Camping site has warm water, kitchen and sitting area which is great for those camping in a tent. There are a few places for barbecues
The owner was mega nice to us and even provided coal and lightning fuel. So we had the most amazing burgers
There was no major wind in the evening, so we sat on the beach, but at night we had the usual camper rocking wind, still warm though.

Nice camping with a friendly host, it is possible to book camping alone (1500 ISK) or camping and hot spring combined (3000 ISK).
The camping has a good (heated) kitchen area (with stove). At the reception is a heated living room where you can sit till 12 AM. You can also buy some drinks and pastries.

A long drive to what feels like the end of the earth. But well worth it, and the host, Ingimar was as spectacular as were the ocean and mountain views. The reception area was very beautiful, and Ingimar sold cold cans of Icelandic beer and hot soup. Toilets were adequate. Common showers next to geothermal pool (which cost extra). Recommend enlarging the cooking/eating facility and build private showers.

The guy that runs the place is adorable, super attentive and great host. The view is stunning, the sunrise is incredible.

The road was great, gravel, but great. Not a lot of potholes, don't get discouraged by other reviews.

Regarding the amenities, the dining area is heating with all necessary items to cook.
The restrooms are cleaned and heated.

Be mindful, this is not the place to have a great shower. The open showers are in a container with no heating, no doors. It was an adventure, I showered with warm water and froze at the same time.

Hot springs are super. 2 pools with 38° and 40°. Man on reception was friendly and fun. Will visit again on next trip for sure!

Amazing place to stay. Showers are not separated one by one but they are ladies side and man side so it is absolutely fine. Reception/coffee hut is warm and cozy, toilets and kitchen huts are well. But a big bonus are pools 🤩 hot dive in cold weather is the best you can do...
