Dalahótel

This is an absolutely wonderful hotel. Before anyone goes about judging how the room or building looks like, you have to understand that it was a school until 2000. This is just to set your expectations. That being said, everything about our stay there was outstanding. The owners are incredibly helpful and nice, the staff is prompt and responsive. We stayed there in November and essentially had the place to ourselves. We still got to eat with freshly prepared food from the kitchen, and it was amazing! If there's a dark sky you can just head out and try to spot some aurora. Just a wonderful place.

My wife and I stayed a night. We had a great stay! Only a few guests that night, so we enjoyed a hot tub to ourselves next door.
We saw the northern lights easily as well.
The wing we were in was very clean and the room was quite nice. The staff were relaxed and easy going, very helpful. Breakfast was a good selection and tasty.
Would return for sure!

Very nice and cozy hotel to stay at. The food is excellent, the staff friendly and helpful, and the pool is great fun. Also good to stop here for coffee if that's what you need on your way to the Westfjords

We were about to go the campsite but as I was feeling cold and there was no area for a kitchen we had to decline.
The owner was such an amazing guy. He even offered to get as a room in the hotel with quite the discount but if we had taken that offer we probably wouldn't have gone back to camping in our car tent. He even called another camping site nearby to make sure we got a room for cooking.

To another season we will definitely come back! And recommend going to the hotel as the owner is a really nice man.

There is a very beautiful hot spring and the nature and landscape is amazing.

The staff were attentive and the owner was gracious with warm and inviting hospitality, making you feel like family. The fish and lamb dishes were made with local ingredients and presented beautifully. The desserts were made with locally sourced ingredients too. A great incentive was the hot bath right outside of the hotel, within a pastoral and rural setting. We will be coming back again. Very generous and warm place.

Moreover, the staff's knowledge of the local area and their willingness to help plan excursions and offer recommendations added an extra layer of convenience to my stay. They truly went out of their way to ensure that I had the best possible experience during my time in Iceland.

Incredibly hospital people, service is incredible and the building is absolutely gorgeous. The free, public use swimming hole/hot spring is an absolute treat as well.

A very nice and friendly hotel! We just made a rest here and didn't sleep/ stay overnight in the hotel. But the food was very good, the service excellent and the hotel staff was super friendly.

The staff is amazing, they are so welcoming and will do everything for you, to get a wonderful time in this historical hotel. The food is so tasteful and all through the hotel you feel the warmth and you feel like home. They also sell there own kinds of bear.

Excellent hotel with great amenities, welcoming atmosphere and a relaxing feel. The dining room has an excellent view over the valley with the food being both authentic & homely. Added bonus of a games room, lounge & bar!

We stopped at this hotel for lunch. At that moment the hotel was closed, but the owner opened his restaurant especially for us, because he didn't want us to get back on the road again hungry. This was so kind! And the lunch was wonderful, we ate the best cod ever, really delicious! The owner was so kind to give us suggestions for the rest of our trip, like restaurants and nice places to visit. These suggestions made our trip even more great! We didn't have the pleasure to stay in the hotel for the night, but if I come back to Iceland I will definitely go here!

Beautiful place off the beaten path with wonderful accommodations and very kind people. They did our laundry and delivered it to our door in an hour. The hot spring is wonderful and not too populated in the morning.

A beautiful and relaxing place to stay. With new owners the hotel is being redesigned. A perfect place to be in the nature with a natural swimming pool and historic place Gudrunarlaug. Great hospitality and delightful natural food managed by owners. Dont miss this one out.

Nice hotel near a hot spring. I arrived late at night and the receptionist got me a kettle for some ramen, and was even thoughtful enough to start it boiling while I changed. That was much appreciated after a long day of travel!

Greate and comfort rooms, music & game night room, play room (billiard, table tennis, darts, etc), heated pool, jacuzzi, dry sauna, great breakfast.
