We noticed this place on our drive from Chandani Chowk to Mulshi Dam and aimed to use it on the way back. We were pleased we did. The food was excellent with a range of snacks at surprisingly reasonable prices.

We just had a masala tea, plus a vegetable grilled sandwich (all of which look very nice and well prepared/presented). There is a good seating area outside, and plus substantial seating inside.

Something refreshing. Opened recently. Simple but neat and tidy interiors/exteriors. Indoor/outdoor seating available. Table service available. Maharashtrian and western menu available. Only vegetarian food. Good quality food at reasonable prices.

I had misal pav and masala tea and both items were at par. Misal is good enough for 2 persons. Masala tea was superb. They serve chocolate tea and that's their speciality.

Another speciality to be mentioned is, they use earthen pots ( utensils made of mud).

Before starting to write this, I thought I'd be one of first few members talking about this place. But to my surprise I'm actually late.

Just afyer you pass by the Manas lake on Pirangut road, on your right you'll find this place called Chaikund in about 2 mins.

What I liked:
1. Name: Something new, different from current trend.

2. Ambience:
If you believe in 'Beauty can be found in simplicity' then you'll definitely love this place. Road touch , all wooden construction airy atmosphere.
Special mention to Chai Conference spaces they have created.
You can enjoy a sip of tea with flowing traffic (which is not much except weekends).
They have chosen plates / glasses / jug in line with theme of being close to nature.
Kudos.

Dil khush ho gaya.

Food:
Simple , selective single page menu varying from thalipith to burger in food.
10 odd varieties of tea / coffee.
Overall they have taken care of not wasting your time in reading through menu n fighting over it.
I felt that they want you to enjoy your time discussing / gossiping with your partner across the table.
As it was post dinner drive we only had Kothimbir Vadi, Masala Chai and A2 Organic Chai.
Kothimbir vadi was impressive.
Felt that it was made up of 'Bhajani' (mix roasted gram flour ), which was a nice touch.

Ratatouille wali feeling aa gayi , sach me.

Tea was also good.

Other items in the.menu were bhaji,.misal, sandwiches etc.

Service:
Simple menu ensured quick service.

Price: Final bill was 120 Rs. Now rate it yourself on VFM scale.

Overall:

This is one of the places , where i enjoyed the experience more than it's food.
If I dare, I'll rate.this place well above any CCD outlet.

It's nice place , awesome tea, there are different types of tea and coffee available , masala tea is is very good in test and flavor , they add different kind of tea spices into it which make it very different and unique , they also serve quick bites such as fingerchips and poha, maharashtrian dish like "कोथिंबीर वडी " आळु वडी , थालिपीठ , it's exactly near paid road where bus , cab connectivity easy available more than that they also have enough parking space there in case you are travelling with your own vehicle , very structured place and 40 to 50 people cab served at one time , i never found any rush hours or anything as such but tea time is very good time to visit and quick bite , when you feel hungry you can go to this place , service is quick and fast many times if it's rush hours then may be little late but you get nice service though it's late , over all very nice place to visit do visit when you feel to hungry or want to try something different

Chaikund a very good option for quick snacks and tea, lot of type of tea which you can't say tea but yaah as name suggests Chaikund. We ordered misal and it was also very good we had aalo wadi and kothimbir wadi also must try items. Aprat from that ambience and design of sitting is good and good lights. Enjoy your tea in kullad while coming back from lavasa or Konkan or Tamhini ghat.

After a long time seen someone put in a lot of creative ideas to reality. A small place but put in lot of thought over each and every detail be it the mud glasses they serve water in, the seating arrangement to the menu. I fell in love with this place as you all must have known, but I suggest visit the place try their stuff and then decide if it's really worth spending time. They have good tea options and a few snack items when you are on the go.

This is one of the best snacks outlet on Mulashi road...just ahead of manas lake on main road on the right hand side while going from Chandani chowk.
Smiling manager, agile staff...
Innovative menu, specially for tea, coffee and other drinks...
We had kothimbir vadi, aluvadi, batata vada for snacks and food was amazing...batata vada was having home like taste
Do not miss this for weekend evening or morning breakfast on the way

We were a group of friends and we were searching for a chilled out place to sit and enjoy. Suddenly one of us spotted this nice place on Mulshi Road.

Chaikund tea cafe.

Opened on 27th Dec. This is a refreshingly new place on Mulshi Road in Bhugaon, just near to Smoke on the Water.

Tried Masala Chai and Chocolate Chai. Masala Chai was delicious and chocolate Chai was quite creamy and yummy.

The ambience is pretty good. Quite cool booths and sitout place with a small lawn as you could make out with the pics.

Since it's a new place the menu is limited but as per our conversation with the owner Mr. Abhijit, menu would be upgraded soon. The owner is pretty welcoming and soft spoken.

I took out my guitar and we had quite a fun acoustical jamming session right there for almost an hour! Thanks Chaikund for making out evening a memorable one.

Guys do try it out once.

Ambience : 5/5
Hospitality : 5/5
Taste of chai : 4/5
Snacks : Didn't try. We were quite full. But Misal /bhajiya etc is available
