Vaalaadi (வாளாடி) is a village on the way to Laalgudi town, from Trichy. It is located on Srirangam's north, across the bank of Kaveri river. Srirangam is one of the most revered Vaishnavaite spiritual center with Lord Vishnu being the presiding deity lying in his lateral decubitus position under the hood of Adi-Sesha - the 5-hooded serpent.

Vaalaadi's fertile land has mainly paddy and sugarcane. Recently, this village (and also Srirangam) has attracted Tamil retirees from other parts of India. The old Agraharam street is seeing some of the old houses getting refurbished to suit one's taste and depth of the pocket.
