Cardamom House

We are 3 couples travelling south India for a month. Cardamom House is such a wonderful oasis of tranquility. Thank you Chris and your family of staff looking after us. What a unique experience.

A week ago we were at this wonderful place along with our family including the elderly folks, a home away from home located in Athoor in Dindukkal.CARDAMOM HOUSE a quiet ,serene place surrounded by the mountains ,beautifully laid gardens , ultra clean , crystal clear swimming pool with pristine water which is so inviting . The rooms set in cottages are so comfy , clean with all the facilities.Home cooked food fresh from the garden is yummy and delicious.They have a variety of cuisines available. The staff members are so polite , obliging and very sweet . Thank you Samy anna, Murugesan anna, Kumar anna, Pal Pandi anna and Madhavan. Uncle Chris who is the owner is a highly learned person with rich experience ,kind hearted,having a humble and genuine personality . It was nice chatting with Uncle Chris. He has many feathers to his cap . Away from the Chaotic city life , pollution , noise and the commotions Cardamom House is perfect place to rest ,reflect and rejuvenate your soul. Thank you Cardamom House for making our stay pleasant and enjoyable.

We had an incredible stay at Cardamom House. The location is peaceful and rejuvenating, surrounded by lush greenery. The staff made us feel very welcome. The food was excellent. I would love to stay there again ;). I recommend it 200%!

Totally unexpected discovery near Dindigul. Property 7 km from Athoor Village. Very close to Kamrajar Sagar dam, short walk to the reservoir from the property. Cardamom House has a few clusters of rooms set among flowering bushes and trees. Very well maintained, with an excellent pool. Both property and pool super clean and welcoming. The staff are absolutely exceptional, gracious, ready to assist in any way possible. Superb food made to suit your preference for every meal.
The rooms are excellent very well maintained and spacious with air conditioning. There are places to go for walks near the property both Dindigul and Palani are easy drives. Will visit again soon.

Great place to spend time. The houses are thoughtfully designed and food is nice. One can enjoy the view from the balcony for hours. The folks working there, are professional and helpful if anything needed. If you are traveling with pet, they are very pet friendly and the pet will enjoy the surroundings. Time spent talking with Chris is added bonus and fun.

Undoubtedly, our best homestay experience so far! This place has all you can ask for in terms of a serene ambiance, great food, cleanliness, thoughtful amenities (attention to the utmost detail), courteous staff, and the wonderful Chris! This is the perfect getaway to forget the hustle and bustle of urban city life. This place will put your life on 0.5 - .25x (slow it down) and give you space to think and have meaningful conversations with your loved ones. Like all great places, this place too doesn't accept all guests - you need to be respectful of the hosts (the crew there) and other guests!

We had a wonderful time @ Cardamom House during our stay on 12th and 13th Feb 2022.

The homestay is built amidst a highland surrounded by lush paddy fields with breath-taking views. The aesthetically pleasing design of the house and the diverse collection of flora were complimenting each other. The foyer leading into a large dining-cum-entertainment room had a spectacular view overlooking the Kamaraj water reserve at the far end. The rooms were large, comfortable and adequately furnished with all the basic needs for a pleasant stay. The fabrics in the room and the surroundings were super clean that we hardly faced any bed bugs or mosquito bites. The swimming pool was crystal clear and very well maintained. The food (Veg & Non-Veg) was great and the staff were well-mannered, polite and courteous. We would like to extend our warm greetings and thanks to Dr Chris and the entire staff for a memorable stay.

Note: The route to the house from Madurai via Athoor leaving NH37 is under 10 km but has a hilly terrain with potholes and bumpy roads. Please drive carefully in the dark.

A beautiful oasis after the bustle of the city! We stayed here for 4 nights during a month long trip around Kerala and Tamil Nadu and it was one of the highlights!

Dr Chris was a charming and gracious host, his staff are excellent, and nothing is too much trouble.

The surroundings are absolutely beautiful and the rooms and facilities are perfect for some R&R. We enjoyed lots of walks, explored the nearby village and befriended some local dogs during our stay, as well as regular dips into the lovely pool.

We found the food to be excellent and weren't worried that we couldn't dine out at a different restaurant every night.

I have to say that he experience overall was more like staying with old friends than at a hotel; it was a wonderful experience and I just wish it was closer to home so that I could visit often.

Wow..wow...wow.... what a wonderful place! Absolute hide out, resting and self-rewarding place. After stressful work, want to treat yourself, this is the place. Calm and quiet. Nature and serenity surrounding area.

Every thing you need to treat yourself is here. Nice people around you. What can I say about the food? If any food can make you happy after your mother's food, it this food. Absolutely original home cooking, with no adulterated stuff. Made to your requirement, as per your suggestions. Plenty of seasonal fruits and vegetables. I did not taste any non-vegetarian preparation. But, I am sure they can make fabulous non-vegetarian dishes too. Chinese, Thai, Italian and English foods are also available.

You want to write a book, you can lock yourself here. Internet connectivity is very good. Marvelous swimming pool. Crystal clear water. Good for children and adults. I loved the pool.

Dr. Chris, the founder of this place also stays here. He makes sure that every moment of your time is pleasantly spent. Mr. Murugesan, the Manager makes sure everything is in place before you check in. Hastle free check in. He is always there to make your stay as comfortable as possible.

Mr. Periyasamy, Mr. Pandi and Mr. Palpandi pamper you providing all you ask for. Pandi is an excellent cook.

I wouldn't be tired of writing about this place. You need to experience it. I am already looking for my next to this heavenly place.

We stayed for a night en route to Kerala and were taken care of by Murugeshan and Samy extremely well. Their service is extraordinarily commendable! We were celebrating my husband’s birthday, and they brought out a cake and rose garland for him! The meals are freshly made and they will check with you to understand your likes and needs. The food was awesome! The weather is beautiful and pleasant. We took nature walks and enjoyed every minute of our time spend there. Definitely recommend everyone to stay here!

Very Pleasant to stay.
Alcohol and smoking is prohibited so your stay will be more calm and bliss. Swimming pool is neat and good. Food is are. Rooms are spacious, staffs are very polite.

Cardamom House is a magical place. You have to be there to believe it! My parents and I happened to visit in January 2021. We had the most refreshing experience. Great room, awesome food and super staff. The attention to detail is commendable. Three cheers to the whole team! Worth every penny and more. Will surely go back.

We were looking for a quiet place to spend a night, close to Dindigul.
We chanced upon Cardamom House in our internet search and are glad we did !
Our stay at cardamom House was awesome - away from the city hustle and bustle in the midst of nature in the foothills of the Palani Hills, overlooking the Kamaraj reservoir.
The staff went out of their way to make us comfortable and take care of our food needs. It felt great not to have a TV in the room and just chill out in the verandah with the family.
Would highly recommend this place if you are looking for a quiet home away from home experience.

It was a one day stay ... The hospitality among the service men was top notch ... Rooms were cozy ... The place was calm surrounded with nature.... Food was exceptionally good , was equally good to home made food ... Overall had a very good time staying there and would recommend it for others ...

I have recently returned from a short stay in Cardamom House with 2 friends. I found it charming and relaxing with excellent host Chris and his team. The boys were friendly and cooked just the best food. Not a place for wild living but more for switching off and recharging the batteries. Long may it carry on.

Amazing place to hangout with your family and reconnect. The view from the swimming pool is to die for. Do not miss the view from the pool at Dusk. Chris is an excellent host and so are his staff. We stayed for 5 days during October and we could not have asked for anything more.

Wonderful place. The guys are like family. They do their utmost to make the stay pleasurable. The place is clean and has a great view. Beautiful surroundings and the nearby villages and people are so friendly.

Beautiful place with excellent service ad staff. The view ans ambience was out of the world and enjoyed staying there for 3 nights. Pool and facility was always kept clean and food was good.

An AMAZING place away from traffic, pollution and noise.. the location is serene and calm, we woke up to the songs of birds everyday of our stay.. that itself was an incredible way to start the day..

The rooms were beautiful and has all the modern equipments one needs, wifi has decent connectivity and the food was delicious..

But the best part was the service, people and Chris himself.. the staff were extremely friendly and helpful.. and quite knowledgeable about the history, location and birdlife of the area..
All in all.. it was one of our most memorable vacations.
