Stepping into Amer Fort, also known as Amber Palace, in Jaipur was an awe-inspiring experience for me, as it was my first encounter with such a grand and historic fort. Nestled within the city, this fortress is a treasure trove of architectural marvels and rich history.

The sheer size of Amer Fort is overwhelming, with vast halls, spacious rooms, and towering walls that transport you back in time. The intricate artwork adorning the walls is nothing short of amazing, showcasing the craftsmanship of an era long gone. As I explored the fort, I discovered hidden tunnels, adding a touch of mystery to the adventure.

Spending 5-6 hours in Amer Fort is a journey into the past, offering insights into how kings lived in an era devoid of today's technology. The ingenious ways they maintained room temperatures and the lavish quarters for queens are captivating facets that make the visit truly enlightening.

While guides abound, sharing intriguing stories about the fort, hiring one isn't necessary. Numerous knowledgeable locals are more than willing to share tales, making it easy to absorb the rich history without the need for a formal guide.

It was our first visit to India. This place was amazing walk with history and nice everything is good.

Negative: Lot of tour guides at entrance offers you a trip with reasonable price. However it was anonymous us. As we say know many time per one person contact.

Absolutely a must to visit. Ride up to the fort in jeeps as the road is narrow and steep. Watch out for the elephants. The fort is in sections according to the ages it was built and extended. The hall of mirrors is stunning. Shine your phone torch up towards the roof and it's like stars sparkling . The gardens in one section are beautifully kept and show what it must have looked like. The views from the top and along the ridge of the hills show what an amazing feat of work it was to build it and defend it.

This is such a beautiful palace in Jaipur! We had a guided tour and he spoke about the history of it and took us around. Thankfully it was on a weekday and the weather was sunny. The architecture is magnificent, there is a small shop where you can buy handicrafts for yourself or for gifting purposes. I highly recommend Amber Palace to learn more about Jaipur's culture.

The best forts in Jaipur and must go. I would suggest taking a guide who would explain details. I also recommend going by foot from jaigarh fort to Amber fort it's a 15 min downhill you would enjoy the view

It's a bit off the city center but it's really worth a visit. The place is built on top of the mountain with the wall construction similar to the Great Wall of China in a much shorter distance. The construction of the place itself is well maintained. Unlike palaces in Europe, most of the palaces in India do not have any old furniture or decorations.

Absolutely worth visiting, such an amazing place and I think if there is only one things you're gonna visit in Jaipur, it should be this. Also, get a guide to explain about the history and also all the smart engineering you can find there and you would maybe miss if nobody pointed them out.
Only thing about our guide was that he dropped us off at some kind of super overpriced handcraft shop where they try to sell you so many things. You can just go and say thank you, but it's a shame that so many countries are still doing this uncomfortable thing.

There are a lot of attractions for one to see at the Amer Fort, including four courtyards. The Amber Palace is an example of Rajput Military Hill Architecture and was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Beautiful place. Walk up as the path is not difficult & it is not good to use elephants or necessary to get expensive jeep.
We took an audio guide which was fine for us & gave us the freedom to wander.

Rajasthan it's called best architecture in Jaipur. This gorgeous monument is built with white marble, pale yellow, and pink sandstones. Every wall has detailed architecture like the work of glasses and the walls. You need atleast 4-5 hours for this place. Paid parking is available.

The fort is truly beautiful, and the surroundings are very scenic. It takes about 2-3 hours to cover the entire fort, but it's worth spending time there. The crowd is significant, though, leading to traffic snarls before you can enter the fort. If you are in Jaipur, you must visit here. If you appreciate history, it will be icing on the cake. We visited on December 17, so it was super-duper crowded.

Great place to visit in Jaipur ,I took a very good guide Akram who was an excellent guide. Shakir was our driver from Jaipur Pink tours. Excellent company and English of both is great. I recommend this company. It was a long tour , great value you too. Give them a go,you won't regret it.

A must visit if you are in Jaipur. The road to Amer fort is steep and crowded. There is a parking area at the top but that also gets crowded as Amer fort is #1 attraction in Jaipur. The structure is mesmerizing. I suggest you take a guide to enjoy the stories. Our guide also helped us to get the tickets from the ticket counter. Overall, a great experience

It is worth to visit. 500 rupees for an adult. Student discount is available for tourists as well. 150 rupees for foreigner student. The place is huge so it is not 1 hour tour . Take an official guide with you (500 rupees) it is nice to leave 200-300 rupees as tips. Tell the guide that you want shopping free tour. Beware of the monkeys ( if you have a bottle or food in your hand other than this , no need to be scared at all. Rest ? Enjoy the castle and the stories. Recommended!

Amber palace is the only thing i loved in Jaipur. This is the most important place of jaipur if you are visiting Jaipur. The place where king and his queens use to stay. The place where every decision used to be made. The luxury they used to live is something different. Every thing they built in this palace has reason. Intelligence behind this architecture marvel is very high. Beautiful carvings all over the palace increases the beauty. Do visit in evening for pleasant atmosphere.
