SERSA Stadium

I'm from Tamilnadu, I just visited this stadium while i was waiting for a train from Kharagpur Railway Station because it's near. It's so lovely to watch young generation putting themselves in sports and their parents are around them to support.

It was very emotional site to me.

Very nice venue to organise and play outdoor games. This is the Railway stadium where MS Dhoni was practicing cricket during his service in South Eastern Railway. There is also a special public gallery in his name.

Nice ground to play cricket and football. Covered stands on one side. Seperate gym for railway officers. Badminton court is available. TT table, billiards etc also available. One gym for other than railway people which is a paid one. Open gym is also available

Oh what a nice Stadium, our beloved captain M.S.Dhoni was played here for a long time , good maintenance,, nice play ground,, enough greeny atmosphere, gallery is so good, total capacity almost 22k. There are one Museum also dedicated to Dhoni.

Fantastic atmosphere of SERSA STADIUM.GROUND is like national ground.groundsman are very hardwarker,they always tried to make the ground clean and playfull.

In this stadium there was held an annual sports function of Railway Mixed Higher Secondary School English Medium. Various types

Dhoni reached Kharagpur as a 20-year-old in 2001 desperate for a job. His best friend back in Ranchi, Satya Prakash Mishra, had got one as a TTE in Kharagpur railway station. He tried to follow his friend's steps. The legend goes that the then Divisional Railway Manager (Kharagpur) Animesh Kumar Ganguly, a cricket fanatic, was desperately scouting for a wicket-keeper batsman for his railway cricket team. When he saw Dhoni he immediately took him to the South Eastern Railway Sports Association (SERSA) stadium and bowled him 60 balls non-stop. Ganguly was satisfied and Dhoni got a job - TTE at the Kharagpur railway station.

It's under the South Eastern Railway. Good Turf Wicket, good even lush green outfield with 70 metres boundary. Good place for cricket matches. CAB, BCCI and Railway matches are conducted here. Local Tournaments and Friendly matches are also conducted here. One Cricket Academy is also run within the premises.

It's a old and popular stadium. It is Kharagpur railways stadium. Here Ex Indian Cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni played when he was working in Kharagpur railways.

Very cool place for the people of Kharagpur to go for jogging and morning walking. People across Kharagpur come here to warm up their bodies. Police selection and railway group selection will be done here. We can also visit Ms Dhoni museum. Huge parking place for vehicles.
