Hijli Eco Park

Nice place. Near IIT Kharagpur, ticket price price Rs. 20/-

The park is actually a small zoo, here you can see different species of peacocks, snakes, leopards, monkeys, deer nilgai, the place is very nice to picnic with the family.

The Hijli Eco Park was established by the Forest Department of the Government of West Bengal around the Hijli Forest area on the outskirts of the city of Kharagpur & near the prestigious institution IIT Kharagpur.

The park is easily accessible from both Kharagpur Railway station & Kharagpur Central Bus Stand via State Highway.
There's also Car & Two Wheeler parking facility available for the visitors.

The main attraction of this park is an Huge Enclosure having several hundreds of Spotted Deers (Chital Hiran/চিতল হরিণ). The Park also have a vast area of forest land of Saal, Segun (Tik), Eucalyptus & several other known or unknown trees. It also have a central Watch Tower, Botanical Garden, Flower Garden, A newly constructed Garden in memory of the Pulwama Martyrs, a Nursery, Kids Zone, Childrens Play Area, a newly constructed Forest Guest House along with a Visual Gallery (a kind of Museum) & several other attractions.

Family friendly place for picnic and family outing. There is also a deer park and a small but very interesting museum inside. There is a park also for kids to play. Restrooms are also available for the public. The inside is filled with trees so you will have no problem for shades to rest. There is also an agricultural farm.
There is a paid parking facility available outside its premises. It is also dog friendly.

Nice place for picnic and romantic couples. During Nov-Feb, you have to book your picnic spot in advance. Get there for a picnic, spend a few hours, view deers in lush greenaries. Entry fee 5/- rupees only. Two-wheeler parking fee 5/- only.

Its a great place to spend free time and enjoy the nature. Morning environment is too good. Good for morning walking.

It's not a park ....it's forest but you can see animals and birds ....take your own food ...no cafeteria inside premises

Nice park for outing with family

An ideal picnic place with family and kids. Good communication from Kharagpur Railway Station and Bus Stand. There is a museum of indigenous living. Here the deer park is very attractive for children. The harmonious sound of the newly constructed clock tower here makes the park's atmosphere unique. There is a separate park for children. Inside there are rose garden, various cactuses, orchid, botanical garden, aqua garden and so on. Park is open all day except Monday and it is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for viewers. Entry fee is Rs. 5/- per head, and car parking is to be paid additional 25/- rupees. There is a good toilet facility.

Excellent work done. Very nice to enjoy . Nice forest rest houses yet to be opened for public. Picnic spots are available for enjoyment. Parking fascilities etc. are available .
Very good for educational trip. Still development work is going on .

It’s a good place to visit with friends but not so good place to visit with family. All sorts of food items are available here. There is also a deer park inside.
