In this Gurudwara, a langar hall ( community hall ),so one can eat food without any discrimination and without pay any cost and also stay in comfortable room absolutely free without pay any cost. I love this place.

Gurudwara Badi Sangat is the place where Guru Gobind Singh stayed in 1708 on way to Nanded. An old Sadhu Jeevan Das who was living here accompanied Guru Gobind Singh to Nanded.
An old multi coloured Bir is preserved here in Gurudwara which is on view in Guru Purab.

Gurdwara Sri Badi Sangat Sahib Burhanpur marks the site where Guru Gobind Singh, traveling to the south through Agra, Chitorh and Ujjain with Emperor Bahadur Shah, stayed in May-June 1708 on the way to Nanded. In those days an old sadhu Jeewan Das was living here on the bank of River Tapti. Previously, Jeewan Das accompanied Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji when he went to Assam.

When someone told Jeewan Das that Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji had arrived he went running barefoot to meet him. Guru Gobind Singh stayed here for some time and then went to Nanded. The Emperor went to Nagpur. Later, during the eighteenth century, Hathi Singh, son of Mata Sundri's adopted son Ajit Singh, made his home here. This Gurdwara has 16 acres of land attached to it.

The Guru Granth Sahib is seated on a marble canopied seat in the middle of a spacious high-ceiling, rectangular hall which has a gallery at mid-height on three sides. Above the hall, over the sanctum, are two floors of square rooms with a domed pavilion on top. An old Bir (hand-written copy) of Guru Granth Sahib is preserved in this Gurdwara. Its pages have beautifully drawn borders in multicolours. The Sangat can view the bir on sangrand and gurpurab days.

Here are a few good people with a lot of love. I stayed here one night for free. But it was very comfortable. The food here is also very good. The next day I went for breakfast and they packed lunch also for me. An experience I will never forget on my journey. I always remember with gratitude

where nice place maximum 3km from burhanpur railway station. gurudwara is 24hrs open, 24hrs langar and accommodation (rooms and hall) are also available. sewadar's are very nice and polite with everyone. Must visit gurudwara.

This historic gurudwara is sooooo beautifull and soo big. The magnificent, yet so majestic gurudwara offers langar to all 24/7 and never lets anyone go empty hand. The management committee of gurudwara is very kind, humble, and cooperative. I was pleased at first and am always looking forward to visiting this place as often as possible.

Shri Guru Govindsingh Maharaj moved from Punjab to chittorgarh- Ujjain to Burhanpur . At the bank of Tapti river there lived a old sadhu jogi Jivandas . When Guru Tegbahadur singh went to Aasam , this jogi was occupying him . Somebody came and told jogi jivandas one spiritual person has come , he called as GuruGovind singhji .hearingthis jogi bare footed went to meet . Jogi seeing guruji felt in his feet and expectedGuruji as Guru. Seeing this people were sttuned and they thought that Guru Govindsingh is a great spirit . Guru Govindsingh ji lived here for many days and all of peoples start joining him . So this place called as "Gurudwara Badi Sangat " . Bahadur shah who joined Guruji from Delhi , took blessings from guruji and went towards Nagpur . Here there is a Golden Guru Granth Sahibji in which guruji has a signature in it . Which only shown at Gurupurab'.s . This gurudwara has 24 hours running langar , Health clinic and a school .
