This shanwara gate is one the entry gates were made by king as old historic burhanpur was enclosure under a big wall these were the enteries and the onlyy exits to Burhanpur back then among which this was the biggest gate made..... In Todays time Burhanpur has been expanded beond those walls and lovely and most historic city has a very close relationship with The Taj Mahal.... Must visit 👍😊

It is one of the best areas of Burhanpur, a famous city in Madhya Pradesh also renowned as a place of famous historical monuments like Awkhana( a place where Mumtaz Mahal's tomb was earlier decided to be build) even before Agra, Shahi qila(fort), Raja ki Chhatri etc.

This is one of the 12 gates situated in burhanpur. During mugal time these gates surrounded the burhanpur city. This is the place where the wife of shah jahan, mumtaj mahal used to live. She had died here. Only for this beautiful lady shah jahan constructed the taj mahal, the building of love. Shanwara is just like an origin to go everywhever in burhanpur. But during rainy seasion mostly it floods.
