When planning for the Triund trek, it's important to keep a few things in mind and pack necessary items. Firstly, make sure to wear comfortable and sturdy shoes, as the trail can be rocky. Additionally, dress in layers to prepare for changing weather conditions, including warm clothes for cooler temperatures at higher altitudes.

Upon reaching the summit, the panoramic views of the snow-capped mountains stretching as far as the eye can see are simply mesmerizing. Watching the sunrise or sunset from this vantage point is a moment I will never forget.

Carry plenty of water to stay hydrated throughout the trek, and don't forget to pack some snacks to keep your energy up along the way. Sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses are also essential to protect yourself from the sun's rays, especially at higher elevations where the UV exposure is stronger.

It's also a good idea to bring a basic first aid kit with essentials like bandages, antiseptic wipes, and pain relievers in case of any minor injuries or discomfort during the trek.

Lastly, remember to respect the environment by disposing of trash properly and following Leave No Trace principles to minimize your impact on the natural surroundings. With these tips in mind and necessary items packed, you'll be well-prepared to enjoy the beauty and adventure of the Triund trek!"
Overall, the Triund trek offers a perfect blend of adventure, natural beauty, and tranquility, making it a must-do for outdoor enthusiasts visiting the area. It's an experience that will leave you feeling inspired and rejuvenated long after you've returned home."

Just did the Triund trek in McLeodGanj, and it's a solid adventure. The trail is no cakewalk, gotta warn you, but the views are totally worth the effort. The uphill climb gets your heart pumping, but once you hit the top, damn, it's breathtaking.

The campsite up there is basic but cozy. No fancy stuff, just the essentials. But who cares about luxury when you're surrounded by those majestic Dhauladhar ranges?

The trek takes around 4-5 hours, depending on your pace, and the terrain can be a bit rocky. So, wear comfy shoes – you'll thank me later. The weather is a bit unpredictable, so pack a jacket even if it seems sunny; it can get chilly up there.

The sunrise from Triund is legit one of the best things I've seen. Worth waking up early for sure. And the night sky? Man, it's like a whole galaxy is laid out just for you.

Overall, Triund is a real deal trek – challenging, rewarding, and an absolute visual feast. If you're up for a bit of an adventure and some killer views, it's a must-do in McLeodGanj.

3-4 hours trek one way. Trail difficulty is medium but duration is exhausting.
Lots of amazing views on the way to the top to click some pics.
Would recommend staying for the night.
An experience for a lifetime.

This was one of my first proper treks and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The trek started at Gallu temple and it was an uphill climbing of roughly 7 kms. It might take 4-6 hours depending on your pace and number of stops you make. Make sure to carry raincoat with you. You can buy it at the beginning. Also recommended to carry extra pair of clothing, water bottle and some snacks. There are 2-3 shops at half point and then at the top but they will charge 2-3 times higher. The views are mesmerising and beautiful throughout the trek. Rains made the views much better but at the same time - trekking difficult. I opted for HimTrek for the overnight camping. It cost me 1200 bucks which included guide, tent stay, 2 times chai, dinner and breakfast. The camp stay might be the tough for some people. But nonetheless for me it was a great experience and looking forward to do such more treks in future.

This was my first longest Trek ever. Thanks to the reviews it helped a lot. Hope this review help many first timers. We took a bike on rent and parked near zostel Dharamkot as Google map showed that route. We hiked for 25 mins to reach Gallu temple only to realise that cars and bike come till here. Had read in reviews but didn't find the route as probably Google didn't show it. We should have asked a local for the same. It seems the road next to Himalayan tea shop takes you to Gallu Devi temple. So once we reached here we took a 10 mins break at the tea stall. Then we started our Trek around 1:30pm. By 330 pm we reached near the magic cafe ( kind of mid point to the trek). From base to Magic cafe or snowline cafe the trail was mixed, mostly flat and a couple of places steep climb. Being a first timer with breathing issues it was not that tough as I expected thanks to the reviews I had read . The view was worth it. I wish we could go till the Triund point. Unfortunately we started very late and clouds took over, it was raining at the top and since the trail is slippery and stony we decided to come back. We reached down to Gallu Devi temple 45-50mins. Next time for sure!

Quite, calm but a bit challenging trek for beginners. The trek to the top generally takes 3.5 hours from Mcleodganj and around 3 hours from Gallu temple.
We completed the trek right from Mcleodganj to top in 3.5 hours and took a total of 2 hours to come back to Mcleodganj.

You also have a sky cafe midway for some rest and break.

In all, it is an active trek route and quite easy for beginners as well.

It takes around 3.5-4 hrs to reach the topmost point from Upper Dharamkot but is absolutely worth it. I started from Zostel and a dog accompanied me which was adorable. It started quite smooth but then it rained heavily for 15-20 mins which got me drenched. There is a small eatery after 50-60 mins of trek. And 3-4 more cafes/eateries further ahead so you won't be hungry at all. The topmost point is magical. This has to be on the bucket list of todo items for everyone

Lovely walk. No need for a guide. We hired a taxi up and walked back down into Mcloed Ganj. This took an extra 30 minutes downhill, through pine forest.

My advice would be to get up to triund as early as possible to avoid the midday cloud cover that comes in and obstructs the view.

A beginner friendly trek . If you want to take a break from your daily life and want to get some peace and come closer to nature then this is the place you must visit the trek can be completed in one day but if you will stay up there at the triyund top then you will definitely enjoy it more . It could be difficult for those who are not used to of trekking but the awesome view of MOON PEAK will make your hardwork worth it . Hotels can be booked at Gallu devi from there you can start your trekking . After reaching the triyund you can go to the snowline or laka glacier too .

Triund trek is a must do if you’re staying in Himachal Pradesh. The trek is not that hard, it takes around 2-3 hours. The landscapes are breathtaking, no doubt! I’m a pretty sophisticated traveler, but I can assure you, that the view like that is worth seeing. The trek itself is quite meditative, especially when you do it on your own, not as a part of organized group. It might be quite cold on top, especially when it’s windy and when it rains, so make sure to take warm clothing with you. Don’t forget to keep hydrated.

We went on college tour, we stayed at hotel in Mcleodganj, early in the morning we had to leave early for Triund track. The next day we went on a trek with the guide. Before entering the trek we took Aadhaar card at the checking point and after checking we got permission for trekking. The trekking started to be very spectacular, the beautiful views of nature, the waterfalls and the hills were looking very lovely. Many friends were together, so there was not much problem in trekking, in about 5 to 6 hours everyone reached Trind Top. It felt as if nature had welcomed us. When we reached Triund, we got to see a magnificent view of snow mountain, beautiful and heart touching views all around. As if all the tiredness went away after seeing the scene. Everyone danced a lot and enjoyed the fun. I am a great devotee of Bhole Baba, then I saw there a small temple of Bhole Baba and I became more happy. Had darshan of Mahadev Baba, meditated. We had Maggi breakfast, Maggi taste very good in the mountains Now we had to come back on the same day and reach the hotel before nightfall. Now we came back till then it was night and we reached the hotel on time. I would like to tell that if you come to visit Dharamshala, then definitely go to Triund Track.

Excellent beginner trek in the foothills of Himalayas.
There are 2 ways to reach on the top. One from Gallu temple and other from Bhagsu temple.

Bhagsu Temple road it steep and narrow while Gallu temple road is gradual and not so steep till mid point.
After mid point it is steep.
Road from Gallu temple is very serene and beautiful. There are lot of Buransh flowers trees which makes path really beautiful and scenic.

We we went earlier day there was hailstorm and lots of snow. So next day when we started it was all snow till we reach to the top. But due to clouds we could not see Dhauldhar ranges. But it was very nice experience trekking through snow.

On top one can get Rajma chawal, bread omlet, Maggie, tea , coffee, lemon tea, dry snacks , water etc. It is bit costly but it is lot of efforts to take all these things on top.

They also have camping facility.

This is a beginner's trek, but you need to come prepared. It starts from Shiva Cafe/Bhagsu Waterfall, McLorganj.
With average speed it takes 5 hours to reach here without stopping much.
The trail is very Rocky. There are shops till the way up there in your way (except prices of things are double).
The trail is fairly visible if you've trekked before and have experience, otherwise use a guide.
Bring enough cash because there is no UPI/Signals up there.
I highly recommend you to stay up there in camp (book from mcleodganj) because you get to witness the most beautiful sunset , sunrise, night starry sky, and city lights from up there.

*If you wanna go further - you can go to Snowline (2 hrs from Triund) or Laka Glacier (1.5 hrs from Snowline )

Trek To Triund Top!!!

Trekking to Triund top was a wonderful experience. I went with my friends. We all completely fell in love with this place as it is so serene and beautiful.

Trek was around 9KM , which will take 2 to 3 hours depends on speed and group. It was above average trek . View from Top was mesmerizing. It's like heaven.

Amenities: Our camps were comfortable and safe. The meal provided to us was nice and HOT. You can buy Maggie, water in one local shop. Washroom was prepared, but use it only if you absolutely need it, otherwise there were ample empty hidden spaces.

We went with local guide Shambhu who is very nice and help you in every way. We thoroughly enjoyed our night stay and returned next morning.

Plan your weekend trip to Triund, when it is open usually starts from April.

One of the best trek one can do.
The best way is to start from gallu devi temple as it took us just 3 hours to reach on top from this path and 2 hours to come down. The view on this path is just awsome. There are 3 food joints in way where u can take rest and have some fooding and water.

The local travel agent there suggest to start from bhagsu waterfall but i would suggest not do so as the path is very steep over there and also take almost 5 hours to reach triund view point.

The view from the top is just awsome and a treat for the eyes.

One of the best treks you can go for our there. The view on top is absolutely worth it.

There's a tiny cafe there so you can get yourself some food. Breath taking view at the top.

You cannot miss this if you're here!
