Naali Kinaru

It’s really amazing and feel pleasant. While getting a bath in this pure holy water. It’s really a miracle to get very pure water very near to the sea. It takes few minutes to stand in line and get down few steps to reach the water.

It's a freshwater spring located just 100m from the sea. After bathing in beach sea water take a bath here in fresh water before visiting temple. It's also a ritual practice to do so. They charge you 1₹ for 3 mugs of shower.

It's free of cost now. But we have to be careful when get in to the well.

Everyone visiting temple must take a bath here....

It is also known as Skanda-Pushkarani. It is just beside the sea and the interesting fact is the water in naali kinaru tastes good without salt. The devotees take bath in sea water and then they take bath here as well. It is believed that lord murugan created this nali kinaru to vanish the thirst of the soldiers who fought against the sooran's.

Can't Believe Good Water Resources Near Sea but it's true. Crowded place due to Rs.1/- to take a bath.Very Nice Experience.

Miracle to get a fresh, good water beside the sea. Way to go down and to come up is two way system. It is well organized.

After taking bath in the Sea, one should go to Nazhi kinaru (well) to cleanse yourself.

Pure well water located on the shore of Thiruchendur. You would wonder how the water is soo pure when located 100 meters from the sea. Also the level doesn't go down all thru the year. Strongly believe all your curse will be gone by pouring a bucket of water in your head.

Holy water blessed by Lord Muruga to his soldiers after winning the battle with Soorapadman. One visits Thiruchendur need to take bath in sea water first followed by Naalikinaru bath to complete the worship pattern.

This is a Small Well which is nearly 15 to 20 Feet deep. This place associated with mythological War waged by Lord Muruga with Soorapadhman. It is believed when his Troops were thirsty, Lord Muruga pierced his Vel (His Weapon in his hand) into the Earth and Obtained Water and quenched his troop's thirst. That's why the Structure is so narrow and deep.

We have to pay a Small Entrance Fee. Pilgrims take Bath here with the sacred water from the Well. Seperate Enclosure is provided for Ladies. The Water is believed to cure people of many Complaints.

The naali kinaru is founded in the kovilvaasal.The naalikinaru is maintained clean and well provided.In naalikinaru they will pour water from the small well which is so cool and feels like natural bathing.It is acceptable that nearby the sea there is a presence of good water.The people who comes to murugan temple have a bath in the sea and then they go to naalikinaru which is much better because if you go to naalikinaru at starting and then they go to sea.they do not have the such feeling of water.

Very good famous god murugan living place in 6 houses..

Naali kinar (naazhi kinar) is a well, It is said that when Shanmukha(murukan) troops returned to the shore after vanquishing Surapadman at Mahendragiri, they felt thirsty and wanted fresh water. To quench their thirst, Shanmukha planted his Vel(spear)on this spot and caused fresh water to gush out.
