Good place to get lord Ayanaar‘s blessings in a surroundings with a red sand, where many Tamil films were shooted for fight scenes and several climaxes 👏👏👏

This is our Kula deivam Sri Karkku vel Ayyanar, very powerful god it's just 15km away from Tiruchendur murugan temple . The area covered with red sand like desert, every year end of Karthikai month the famous and big celebration of kaller vettu function is celebrated here around 4 to 5 lacs people visit the temple in that one week.

This is our family god. Ancient and powerful temple. Temple was located in Theri kudiyiruppu near Kaya mozhi Tiruchendur. 14 km away from tiruchendur. Here nativity is red sand which was most beautiful. Lot of cashiew trees are available. Lot of tamarind trees are there. Temple is having all basic amenities. Having lot of space for cooking non veg. For pongal preparation separate ancient type kitchen setup is available. This temple is always close to our heart temple. Annadhaanam also available by 12pm. Drinking water facility available inside temple but only for drinking not for cooking. Open water tank available for gents bathing and closed room available for ladies bathing. But temperature is very high however wind flow below trees will forget about these temperatures. Climbing on trees is best part for kids entertainment. Those who have bringing play items can enjoy most. One full day you can spend here. Lot of space available for vehicle parking.

Drawbacks

Now a days drunkers are also enjoying this place. Need to control it.

Most of the Poosari's openly asking amount which is some what uncomfortable. They are not forcing us but it may disturb most of us.

Rest room facilities need to improve for both gents and ladies.

This temple atmosphere can keep ourself forget of all above drawbacks

I had so much fun there ...we can go with family like a picnic spot...and we can play around on the sand ... safety there is so much friendly peoples. They will not mind if we sat on sand under a tree and and can get a nap hahahaha.,.,..,but one thing you should not buy anything there .cause it's cost so high...even I get one glass of orange juice . Outside the price is ₹10or ₹15 but there ₹30 rupees .. before buying anything from there you should ask how much it's cost? This is just a opinion. ...

Small but clean temple with all necessary stuffs, red sand dunes at backyard of temple is awesome. Only small hiccup is distance from main road, bus (not frequent) and autos from main roads can be availed to reach temple.

Beautiful pollution free environment to enjoy and play. We will definitely be out of the world when we enter the red mud. Must visit place.

This temple is located amidst an island(not literally) of red sand. You can reach this place either via Thiruchendur or Tirunelveli. Roads are pretty bad to non-existent on both the routes.
If you are planning to visit the temple on a tight schedule, you need to add an hour more to what's given in Google Maps, cause the roads are that bad.

Temple is clean and neatly maintained, you have small shops outside to buy some snacks, tender coconut and toys for kids.

Temple is open from early morning till 5.30 in the evening. At 1.00 in the noon they offer a Pooja during which devotees are not allowed.

Arulmigu Karkuvel Ayyanar Temple has been a place where we have most of the purvakudis and kula deviams available under the same temple. The temple ia located little inside the main road in therikudirupu. The place has all the facility maintained well so big thanks to the people involved in management of the temple. I have our kula deivam periya andavar in the same premises. The place is located in a nice quiet place. And placed is maintained well and clean. The parking facility also available here. The temple is near the famous red desert sand kind of the land. The mulavar ayyanar dharshan gives peace of mind whenever I come here.

You can visit red sand dessert. You can see desert in Tamilnadu. This is the shooting spot for many Kollywood tamil films like Asuran, Thamarabharani etc

You cant miss the path as its filled with a distinctive red sand. This temple actually jouses many other “Kula dheivams” or Ancestral Gods. Temple is not very big , but is very relaxing and peaceful

This place is covered with dark red dessert sands the sads structura keep changing by the winds direcetion.... a must see temple

Family temple for many members from southern part of tamilnadu

I never believed that there is a desert in South India. Also its red desert. Check out the photo. The temple is inbetween this red desert. Heard that its very famous temple and people come in thousands during the function.

Lovely place. But Iyer tholla thanga mudiyathu take 10rupees not on 100 nos. Then only you will become free. Theeri kaadu awesome place

Nadar community temple, can feel the history roots.

Temple is located in between Theri Kadu, red soil desert. Awesome location and temple is maintained well . Good for one day visit with red soil dunes for kids playing.
