Cafe Shillong

One of the oldest cafe in Shillong. This restaurant has maintained its standard through the years. The menu is not exhaustive but it covers both local as well as south Asian flavors. They also serve burgers, pizza,pasta and few continental dishes. Food is delicious. This place never disappoints.

I had such delicious Thukpa veggie soup (no meat involved at all and at my request no chilli either). The waitresses were lovely. The seat was really comfy. And the live music (on Saturday and Sunday evenings I think) was really really good.

Lovely meal served with a smile by very friendly all-woman staff. Really enjoyed beef thukpa and pork with lakadong turmeric rice. Drinks were delicious too, especially the hot dark chocolate and ginger lemon tea.

The vibe the decor was very nice. I had coffee there itself and had the food packed to have at our Homestay. Below are the items we had and the ratings :

Double Shot Espresso: 15/10. One of the best Espresso I ever had.

BBQ Pork Ribs : 9.8/10. Portion size was around 300grams. Sauce was very good. Perfectly cooked. Meat to Fat proportion was perfect for me (70:30). Saute veges were very crunchy and fresh and flavourful. Mashed potato was not up to the mark.

Shillong Beef Steak style with Herb Rice : Perfectly well done Steak of around 250-300gms. The sauce was very good too. The sad part is that they gave the sad mashed potato in place of herb rice with the steak too. Saute veges and mashed potato was the same as the ones with the pork chop.

Overall great food!!... Would love to go back.

Heard that the cafe provides the very good taste for Thukpa.
And being Bhutanese I used to visit different reasturants and cafe,but usually never got the satisfactory taste for thukpa, like I used to have in my country. As per to my friend's suggestion visited the "Cafe Shillong"
Omg!, as I entered, I was being surrounded by beautiful ambience, welcoming service.
Got ordered things on time.
And about the taste for Thukpa!

I love that you can enjoy your coffee here with cigarettes and watch the city and fashionable college students of the city down below. Shillong is also known for pastries perhaps they should add to their menus

Good local food, with women's power 😁 they serve your food with a smile on.
It's a cozy place not so Big but good if you want to try local delicacies

Love the place and the people managing it.. Some of mny go to things things there are cheesy fries, Caramelo, Momos.. Food here is amazing with many options for Vegetarians too

Lovely cafe and great food. Situated in the heart of Shillong city, it is a must go in case you love food. The ambience was brilliant, you may also get to witness live band as and when organised. Humble and courteous staff, you'll enjoy especially in winters and in rain when you take a place in their balcony area.

Exceptional food, fantastic vibe, brilliant staff, and one of my favourite cafés in the world. This is a very special place of awesomeness.

It was indeed an excellent experience. The food was tasty. The ambience of the place was very good and service was prompt and courteous. No comments on rooms as we did not stay there.

Been here twice on both my visits to Shillong. Cannot recommend it enough. Although there might be higher footfall on weekends as it's famous with locals as well. Recommend the thupka and the lemon chicken with herbed rice.

Enjoyed the live music on a Sunday evening. The food was great too. Must visit!

During our 3rd visit to Cafe Shillong in Laitumkhrah for brunch, we were delighted by the perfect wooden interior and comfortable seating space. The Espresso Americano and Smoothie Redberries were refreshing choices. The creamy and delicious Spaghetti Polo a la fungi left us impressed, while the Chicken Momo with Soup ranked among the top momos we've tasted. The staff's extensive knowledge about the dishes added to the overall experience. The visibility of the cooking space from the sitting area, which was neat and clean, was an added bonus. Overall, it was a delightful culinary journey at Cafe Shillong, and we look forward to returning for more enjoyable moments.

We went for a holiday to Shillong last year, and thought of having the authentic meal of the region . Noodles with chilli chicken were ordered .

Came wrapped so beautifully with chopsticks. The picture says it all .
On opening & tasting this parcel , oh my God the taste was just amazing . Noodles with a burnt flavour & finger licking chicken . Got polished soon . And the helping was big , for almost 3 people .
This was at Cafe Shillong ,one would have thought a small outlet . But people kept pouring in .
So if this side do recommend it to all .
