The ICAR Research Complex for North Eastern Hill Region (ICAR RC NEH) was established on 9th January, 1975 under the aegis of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research.

ICAR Research Complex for North Eastern Hill Region headquarter is located here in Barapani, Umroi Road, Umiam. It is a premier scientific research institute involved in the research and development activities of animal and agriculture. I am working here as a scientist with specialization in Veterinary Public Health. My research interests are tuberculosis and listeriosis. The institute had 3 guest house and is very near 3 KM from Shillong Airport.
